Yup. No one, except for middle-aged white men, refer to any mention of racism as 'playing the race card'. Laughable isn't it? Embarrassing in fact. That's a pretty 'racist' statement in itself. Racism doesn't exist if it's aimed at white people.

If we're serious about this, I guess it would be a good idea to store the number in our phones, so that it is to hand if needed. 07834 521283 is the Her Game Too number to phone or text. Thankyou because I didn’t know the number. Is there also an Alert number that the Gas have, like Barnsley have alluded to for there supporters reading there club statement. I have to be honest, I hope never to use either and upto now haven’t really had any reason too. Although the Brighton game that we were rightly fined for did raise a few eyebrows around me and me included a few seasons ago. That would have led to a few calls texts I’m sure, and potentially saved the club a few quid for showing that we have a robust process in place. That’s if we all knew what the numbers were. I caveat that with I would not ever want to spoil anyones enjoyment of the game and get involved with a sing a long, voice opinions about the normal good hearted banter with our opponents. Provided it does not cross the line, and something that would not even think about shouting in the street on a normal day. I think that Rovers do have a number for reporting any type of abuse. I haven't been able to find it yet, but will post it when I do.

Can't say that I'm keen on men being physically or verbally abused either. Absolutely right. I am not a fan of any abuse of anyone. But this seems a bit of 'whataboutism' (and I am aware you are a female). When was the last time a male footballer was abused pure and simply for being a man? That is what has happened here. Our physio, whilst going about her job (for which she is highly trained), was sexualised and treated with disrespect. As far as I can tell, purely for being born a woman. This is on the similar to a male footballer being racially abused. It isn't the same as some random abuse of Taylor for going to City. That abuse is indeed distasteful and the extreme elements of it I do not support. But he made decisions and conducted himself in a way that was likely to incite reaction. No disrespect meant to you Tilly - i just felt like your comment somehow downplayed the situation... As I said, this isn't the same as some random abuse of a male. It is victimisation on the base of something entirely beyond her control. There is no place for it. How about calling male footballers "Fat Bas&ards or Pikey if the have long hair ? is that not abuse ??

Abuse and Discrimination both have no place at a football ground, but they are slightly different things.

Whilst trawling the media re yesterday's game I came across an article in the local Portsmouth newspaper about John Westwood, the famous Pompey supporter. He apparently got a ban for mooning. In the article there were some very wise and pertinent words from the Pompey Her game too ambassador. Sorry i can't give links, etc., not very good with IT, but she stated that women and girls had the right to go to games without being abused or witnessing offensive behaviour.

I noticed she never came onto the pitch yesterday, I really hope she is OK and it hasn't knocked her confidence because of those morons

That's a pretty 'racist' statement in itself. Racism doesn't exist if it's aimed at white people. Racism doesn't exist if a white man is saying that about another white man. In the same way a black man can use the n word to another black man and it is taken as a term of endearment, rather than a term of abuse. There has to be a context. EDIT. When using the term man, I mean person.

I suspect that she has strength of character, and will continue to do her job well.

I watched the game on ifollow and am ashamed to admit I did not notice who the physio was when Evans was being treated. Hopefully Leighanne will be in attendance on Saturday and carrying out her usual role.

I don’t know the staff as well as some do on here but I’m sure Leighanne was helping to unpack the medical equipment from the coach when it arrived. So she was there and seemed happy and smiling. UTG!
