Relax. Dozens of available or interested managers. Let’s worry about it if it actually happens

Alex Neil eh?
How incredibly bizarre that would be, the Mackems are finally on an upwards trajectory and Stoke well…..bit of a dead ass club for 10 years now.
Would be shocked if he sacks off Sunderland for that gig.

Funny how 2 years ago many couldn't wait to see the back of JB. Now we're hoping someone else takes the Stoke job so he stays. Weird, he wasnt our manager two years ago was he? He was lucky to survive after the end of L1 and the start to L2, but not surprisingly noone wants to start again now with the good work on and off the field of play, Dont make everything Joey-baiting!

The Potters took the decision to dismiss O'Neill on Thursday morning after a difficult start to their 2022/23 campaign. Stoke have managed only one win in their opening five games and crashed out of the EFL Cup in the first round.
It is understood Stoke will move swiftly in their bid to replace O'Neill, with Middlesbrough's Chris Wilder and Sunderland's Alex Neil the favourites for the vacancy. Sean Dyche has also been linked with the role after his time at Burnley came to an end in April.
No mention of JB and not even featuring on Radio Stoke footy chat.

Fair enough, not sure it's funny/odd though. Turning it around from poor, to great and optimistic about the future I wouldnt expect anything else. I'd say most were looking for him to go (me included, I'll admit) early last season. Just under a year ago. Makes it an even better turnaround!

I’ve remembered Rob Edwards FGR to Watford. I remember the Dale Vince interview. I thought I was losing my mind for a minute Managed to screenshot the wikipedia entry for Rob that soon got deleted. I quote:- Watford On 11th May 2022 after almost 3 hours in the job, Edwards was sacked as Watford manager. The club thanked him for his contribution and wished him well in his future career.

If he got us to the Championship no doubt a bigger club would come knocking. Would he take it though? Probably, but he has said it's not about the money - he doesn't need it. I'm lucky enough to finally find myself in a job that I like and enjoy, and where the money is enough to comfortably live on. Occasionally, I see offers (both internally and externally) for a similar role but a slightly higher wage. Whilst I would like more money, at the moment I am happy doing what I do and doing it where I am and I suspect Barton has a similar mentality - there is no reason to move just for the sake of it....

Why on earth would Neil leave Sunderland for Stoke wouldn't he be joining a smaller club in a far lower league position? Looking at boro's results Wilder's had a worse start than O'Neill.

That's the point I was trying to make that many who wanted him gone now want him to stay and carry on what he's doing. Jesus this place is hard sometimes.

Also we wont only lose Joey but we would surely lose all the backroom staff that he has brought in which would be a massive upheaval Excellent point, if Joey were to leave, BRFC would inevitably lose all of its back room team, plus any of the current squad Joey wanted to take with him. Personally, I think Joey is the best BRFC manager the club has had in the past 35 years, and there will be plenty of other clubs wanting him as their manager. Currently, I believe Joey will stay, although he may get fed up with all the barrack room lawyers on here, constantly bleating about things they quite frankly know nothing about, and decide enough is enough and he will be offski. Who the moaners expect will come in and do a better job, answers on the back of postcard to Wael.

If Stoke want JB, they are a big club, and he wants to go and his greedy agent gets a good wad of cash out of it, then we will loose him. JB rates Whelan highly so I hope he stays behind, vast experience and a good coach by the seems of things.

Going to Stoke even from the Gas would be as surprising as from Sunderland😄it’s a managerial graveyard and no stepping stone for bigger/better things, at all. Potters fans won’t like it, but it’s just facts.

And now our man is linked with Sunderland. As a ex toon I bet their fans can't wait for him to accept an offer.
