All I would say that before they arrived, I attended matches more out of loyalty than enjoyment, I now look forward to games especially with the introduction of the fanzone & the football being served up.

Personally it feels a happy place with Wael, Tom and Joey seemingly pulling in the same direction. I’m not sure how to describe it but there’s a buzz about the place with families and particularly children coming in larger numbers. The fanzone’s are a great initiative, our stadium isn’t the best by a long way but I think it has something about it, we’re selling out regularly so it can’t be too bad.
We have a training facility that is top drawer after beg, steal and borrowing for decades and our coaching team seem really progressive. Of course there is still much work and investment to do but in my opinion we’re on our way.

Until they deliver a new stadium then we can say they have achieved things Indeed, we still play in the worst stadium in the league, until that's sorted they have achieved nothing.

Miserable bunch you lot are. Suppose that’s why beating Oxford gets 16 pages and losing to Pompey gets 27. So easy to moan but can’t give credit when it’s due. Spot on.

I take it you haven’t visited many away grounds, because believe it or not there is a few worse. But surely if we believe we are at the right level in L1 with a view of having a crack at the Champ, having only a few grounds worse than ours in the whole league still isn't great. Out of interest which ones would you say were worse?

Problem is if they both left tomorrow we'd still be playing in one of the worse grounds in the league and whilst losing £2m/£3m a season.

In my opinion in league 1 I would consider Accrington & Forest green worse & if you go back to last season Newport,Harrogate & Sutton , but like you say only having a few grounds worse isn’t great & hopefully something positive on the stadium front comes to fruition in the future .

Worth remembering in these troubled times….
It’s not just a stadium. ITS OUR HOME.

Having watched previous teams train at Frys, and various other temporary bases, I would dispute the above. 100% right Tilly, training at Cribbs with Porta Cabins and Andy Loo's in L1 and L2. That's a million miles away from where they train now. That's why we will / are attracting some decent players and loan signings now. Would Newcastle have let us have Billy to train on a potato field. No way, they would have checked out the training facilities before letting their star youngster come to us last season. The team only play at the Mem at 3pm on a Saturday (excluding Cups and Mid week I know). Then they are gone. They spend all week at the quarters training on an exact replica of the pitch at the Mem. Which by the way has previously been voted the best pitch in L2 (I'm sure L1 as well, although someone will I'm sure correct me.) You have to forgive our board for spending in the most important areas at the moment. Ie very good training facilities and a very good playing surface on a Saturday, to attract the right staff and playing staff. From a supporters view I get it, its a s**t hole. However we are still watching our team in L1 with on the face of it no financial pressures. Shiny new stadium with no money scrapping for players crap training facilities, no one wants to come to us. Or as I said above, infrastructure in place with hopefully a stadium in the future is the way forward for me. I bet if we asked the players how interested they are in the surroundings at L1 L2 level compared to the surface and training facilities, from my experience players want a good crowd a very good pitch and where they spend most of there week to be a great place.

It would be difficult to attract new fans, (especially female fans) when the ground is ramshackled and looking like some event you'd see on the Downs than a football stadium. However, im more interested in having a new home that can generate money for us 7 days a week and can hold a lot more fans than at present. And before anyone says we cant fill our current stadium, it wasnt so long ago Brighton were getting similar attendances to us, but since their new stadium they have gone in an upward trajectory and the crowds have gone up with it. Wael and Tom have done a lot of good things for the club for sure but the new stadium is the holy grail

But players come and go, fans tend to stick around in the long term, we're never going to become an established Championship side, even top 6 L1 side, without a new stadium. Plus how much are we now losing every home game by having such a reduced capacity at the Mem.

No one thinks we dont need a new ground or redevelop Mem at least But that doesnt mean things arent improving elsewhere. I like gasgas2's point. Getting the structure and training right has a bigger impact on results, playing staff and enjoyment for fans. The stadium has to come and be sustainable, but I'd rather be watching this team at the Mem right now!
