But did you have one too many and leave a young lad for dead in the street and end up serving time for the incident? You're a failure compared to Barton. Did you hear the nasty comments through your illegal VPN as we all know you don't go and watch Rovers.

Did anyone actually hear it π€and in this age of mobile surveillance could we please have a copy of it for all to see π€ My understanding is that it happened when SC came back out to do his post match interview, so the majority of fans had left the ground. Abuse was from a group of "middle-aged men", who had probably hung around exactly for that purpose. One of our own fans told them to button it, there were still kids around - so he obviously heard it!

I'm aware by the way that I'll probably get banned soon by the admins, some of whom love Joey and one of whom likes to make out he owns supercars, but we are where we are. Up the Gas and see you all when Barton has gone. Where does this come from? Why would we ban you for having an opinion. Unless youβre slandering someone, getting personal over it, or spamming your thoughts everywhere I canβt see you getting banned by anyone in the mod team. Bank Holiday, Parents away, got the flat to myself innit.

I thought having fans who wilfully ignored the managers history of being a scumbag was bad enough, but some of you making excuses for singing songs or making comments about opposing managers or players dying is beyond gross. Some of you weirdos need to take a long hard look at yourself, and for the sake of society, don't reproduce. I do not condone in any way this kind of chanting/singing, which by the way is the kind of stuff JB puts up with every game and so far has dealt with admirably, but neither am i a fan of the kind of society you advocate.

Fair play to him for organizing their bench and subs warming up to clap for Anderton.
Pity about the dreadful gamesmanship display by his team.
The swan dive by the player who had the ball knocked out of his hands in front of his face by Rossiter when he was timewasting was worthy of a retrospective few match bans.
That said some of the comments alledged to have been made are terrible.

I don't have any sympathy for Cotterill,it costs allot of money to attend a football match and then have to sit and watch for over 90 mins grown men role around on the pitch in an attempt to waist time and to try and get opposition players booked and sent off is dreadful. It would be interesting to see a Shrews training session I suspect that their players spend half the time on the ground. I don't think that justifies anybody shouting out that they wish he was dead. I agree that what was said is not acceptable but neither is the behavior of those players who play acted trying to get our players booked or sent off. I didn't enjoy the game at all and when I got in the car to come home felt I didn't want to return to watch next weeks game, I go to football to be entertained and get behind my team not to watch a bunch of players ducking and diving to try and wreck the game, disgraceful

Not sure why you've chosen to take this thread off at a tangent and are ignoring the main issue, the abuse directed at Cotterill, when there's another thread discussing the "dark arts"

A little bit of abuse should not deflect from the real issue here. First, the abuse itself was not a death threat, as inflated by some, nor was it a threat of physical violence. Cotterill was not confronted by a group of our fans, with him in a in a vulnerable position. It was an immature remark shouted from the stands by an individual whilst the interview was conducted pitch side.
The real issue is that Cotterill deserves all the criticism he is getting - although he will be able to deflect much of it now, and he was already trying to apportion our reaction during and after the game as due to his and the team's Bristol City connections.. NOT AT ALL!
Yesterday was the most cynical, pernicious, disgraceful, collective display of deliberate cheating I have ever witnessed. This was more than just individuals taking to the 'dark arts' and is no way comparable to anything we have done, nor indeed any other team I have seen. The level and frequency of their Shenanigans was a constant feature, clearly implemented as a tactic and comes straight from their manager.
The consistency of their deception was in no way comparable to the usual, that is sadly becoming acceptable: Coutts for example falling over when he get's a slight push in the back, Belshaw taking a a goal kick from the other side of the area, or turning a routine catch into a spectacular dive and save, or a player running with the ball in the corner - this was more than just running the clock down - so please do not try to justify their level of skullduggery as something every team does. They don't. What Shrewsbury did yesterday was just embarrassing.
I have never left the ground more angry and frustrated than I did yesterday. It was a pitiful display and so frustrating that they should have have been rewarded for killing football as a spectator sport. I sincerely hope that the rest of the league do not allow them to get away with it as we did yesterday - we were awful at times - and I really hope they are relegated. It is all they deserve if they think that is acceptable.
So, I am pleased Mr Cotterill, that you are safe and well, and I hope healthy and fully recovered too from a terrible experience for you. But, you should be ashamed of delivering the most shocking, disgraceful display I have ever seen and I hope you are held to account for descending the game to the nadir of football as a spectacle.
UTG!
