Not such great business then possibly .... FFS!! Maybe, but its not a critical short area at the moment with Loft, Marquis (plus Saunders and Collins), so get him now while we can. Get him fit and we could have some player for the rest of the season. A risk, but not a huge one

Highly thought of, not ideal being injured, but as under 20 will not impact squad size and give us another option as the season progresses

This signing makes perfect sense …rather than buy or loan players like Connolly, Gibbons and Rossiter who immediately get injured or suspended we now procure the signing of pre-injured players to make sure we don’t have to go through the bother of getting them injured ourselves. To be honest you could see things going this way when we signed Luke McCormick who arrived unfit to play too!

If he was fully fit we probably wouldn't get him

If he was fully fit we probably wouldn't get him Spot on, I am happy to wait a 4-6 weeks for a player who has the potential and abilty rather than get a lesser player who we can play on Saturday but isn't as good. Might have to make a small sacrifice to get a longer term gain and we have Collins, Marquis and Loft who hopefully with the signing of the guy from Fulham and maybe one more will see us creating abit more in the final third.

He is a serious talent, it will be worth the wait to have him at the club for the rest of the season, there’s still plenty of games left to play.

I will be happy with this one if it’s a season long loan. UTG.

6 in 26 at Championship level sounds like a good option to me even unfit. Bit like buying a Ferrari cheap cause it needs a few repairs.
No guarantee, but that it what sports science / sports medicine is for I s'pose

If he was fully fit we probably wouldn't get him Exactly, probably just to give him games and maybe only until January. The championship stops for the world cup, so they will want him to have games to get fit.

One thing to note that works in out favour is that he has already played a game for boro this season so he won't be able to be recalled in Jan and sent to another team, will only be recalled if they want him for there first team. Just one less thing to worry about I guess.

We don't know the terms of the loan but i am prepared to trust those in the know and those who are responsible for the deal, i assume everyone is in agreement that the deal would not be done unless those on whom the responsibility falls thought it was for the good of Bristol Rovers.?

This tells me Joey doesn't have faith in Marquis/Loft.

I'm sure Joey knows what he's doing long term That is utter tripe .... cheap shot ! As you say sure that JB knows what he is doing ... always worried though when we sign players who have been injured let alone someone currently injured. If he is fit by October and can hit the ground running then it's a good signing ... if he is still struggling to be match fit by January that is not so great.

For me it makes total sense. Window closes today. Hence next opportunity would not only be January (4 months away) but also up against many more teams and therefore less likely to get him. If he's out injured for another 4-5 weeks, we still get 3 extra months of him in the team than if we wait until January. Yes we could have signed another striker today who was available immediately, but maybe this kid is so good, 5 less weeks of this guy is still superior to 5 extra weeks with the next best available.
