Read it earlier. Quite enjoyed it and as far as I am concerned he hit the nail right on the head about everything.

He’s not wrong to be fair.
This is a perfect example of someone with massive knowledge of an industry at the highest level both home and abroad.
Then replicating it to a smaller business model, using his skill, leadership and knowledge to make the business bigger and better.
It’s the same the world over with Cars, Vans, (my industry), to fast food, clothing, property, banking, internet whatever.
Good on you Joe. Using your expertise to grow a business for the better. You then quite rightly will deserve to move on in time if you feel the need.
Most great leaders will do this

Regarding the stockpiling of players, that has been a massive annoyance and frustration for me for years now. Not sure what the solution is though unfortunately.

Brilliant take on the current state of things but as with every thing , seemingly, these days no chinks of light. I do wonder what the question was that triggered him 😀

Sadly because he’s ‘Joey Barton’ no one in positions of power will take him seriously and try to do something about it. Got to love his passion…. Let’s hope the lads take that into tomorrow’s game and we humiliate Morecambe

That was a good read. I think most fans (from all clubs outside the PL) would agree with him. He sees the game as a fan does, in football terms whereas most leaders in the game see it as a business. He might call it a rant but it’s full of common sense which means no one will take any notice.

Superb rant from Joey - love his passion for the game.
Hard to disagree with anything he says here.
Of course no one will take it seriously because it is Joey Barton talking.

Fair play to him. I liked him as a player and like him as a manager and like him all the more for this.

I’m glad he’s insistent on playing entertaining football, it is what I pay my money to watch. I think it was Kevin Keegan that said something along the lines of “I’d rather win 3-2 than 1-0 and play good attacking football” I’ve always agreed.
One of the most entertaining games I’ve ever watched at the mem was going 2-0 up against posh during the Trollope promotion season and them pulling it back to 2-2 only for Campbell to win it with that great free kick! I was completely exhausted by the end lol

Good insights into the Stock piling of players, it is shame there is wasted talent.. no idea how that can be solved. Is there a cap on how many youth players you can have? Naturally if there is a limit, some players will have to go elsewhere.
Summed up the ref and the tactics deployed by Shrewsbury last week pretty well too. They were joke and ruined the game and shouldn't have been allowed to happen.

Answer: Restrict the number of full time profesionals any club can have to 22, 25. Might cut off the youth teams all together then though. Need a happy medium. We probably have more player's that that ourselves, including young pro's etc. Maybe limit the amount of youngster's at the top clubs. Enough for a squad, but not too many.

I have to say that yet again our Manager has got it right. Great pity that nothing will happen as the Giants in the Premier League do not want change.
Is there a video of the 20 minutes?

I think a squad cap is the way to go, some Premiership teams have over 60/70 pro players and there is simply no need for that. You end up with players like Jamal Blackman who is at Chelsea for 9 years, 7 years as a pro, makes 121 appearances in that time.... but none for Chelsea. Nothing will change though because everything is done to make the bigger clubs untouchable

Another thing they could do is stop parachute payments, it's wrong these teams get money for a couple of seasons for being relegated, it's an unfair advantage in my book. Adree with all JB says in that interview.
