IMHO it'zs time for a change. Focus on the quarters. Modernize. The stuff of pirates, swords and skull & cross bones belongs in panto land. Let's be dragged, albeit kicking & screaming, into the new world - while always respecting what has gone before. Oh no it doesn't !

The change of the club badge could/should happen if we were to move from the dark ages into the light …. A new fit for purpose modern stadium. Don’t hold your breath.

Looking at the gas girls badge I think we'd be worse off replacing it. Still looks a modern badge. And even our city rivals must have said they want something like ours when rebranding. A slight touch up maybe is all i'd be happy with.

Never really liked the pirate, a little too pantomime IMO.
I did a quick prototype last night online of the skull and crossbones with a faint pirate ship as a backdrop. Stuck it up as profile pic.
Would prefer to have a true pirate feel rather than the present one.

I wonder what the general view of our club badge is amongst fans of other clubs ? What design they think might be good perhaps if not the current one.
Might give an interesting overview for the club to ponder.
The main criteria in my book would be a badge thats instantly identifiable as Bristol Rovers ,even if the club name wasnt on it.
Examples being Arsenal and Spurs .

I was thinking similar, I think you need to look at all the other club logos in the UK and around the world to get an idea of which ones impress you most and why (whether you like that particular club or not).

Has a lot more passion and identity than a pantomime costume.

I love the badge. I think it’s unique and immediately identifiable. I don’t want a *ing gash bird or anything like that. Come on people, we’ve got a pirate on our badge…..a pirate ~ how cool is that?! Ponce pirate though, dandy boy. Needs updating, the NFL fans love the raiders, or whatever they are called now, skull and crossbones. It sells outside of the fan base

I’m sure others have said it (can’t be assed reading everything) The skull and crossbones idea is amazing because people worldwide will love it. Kids from all 4 corners of the globe will happen upon it and think it’s the bomb. Plus as a delinquent Bristolian youth, who you going to edge towards: the crappy Robin or a *ing savage skull and crossbones? City can keep their generic Red team BS, and their cider (which is Somerset anyway, as is most of their fan base) We can have pirates and rum. Bristol has nothing to do with cider, it’s a port, from which Britain conquered the world. Rum and cutlasses. Not a bunch of inbred farm labourers rolling in bales of hay with their sisters drinking cider. We will be the authentic Bristol club and not the Somerset surrogate we have down there. Stop the thread, you can’t nail it better than this😄 Yes, i read it and imagined a mic drop

Simple design a schoolkid can copy is the best to be honest. Is there a reason why the club can not have an official club crest which might be complicated AND a simpler football shirt badge ?

Bristol port, very famous for the importing of Sherry. Not sure on an associated image. Also famous for chocolate and Concord. Should we wait to see where the new stadium is to be developed before thinking about new badge, If it had have been Filton then maybe Concord would have been apt. If the ground is South Glocs then struggling for a link for a badge.
