You might be needed Saturday!!
The Post suggesting Whelan will fill in at centre back, he’s played there against Plymouth and will certainly be an option.
Let’s face it, we have a car crash situation in defence. Really quite unbelievable.
For 10 points let’s see if anyone can get the starting line up for Saturday.
I’ll go
Belly
Hoole Whelan Clarke
Saunders Finley Evans McCormick Gordon
Loft Collins
Saunders and Flash providing extra cover as wing backs?
If not Loft then Marquis
Would be a good week for Grant to be ready!!
If not, GET YOUR BOOTS POLISHED AND BRING THEM TO THE MEM!!
Your club needs you!

What about Egan? Must have 20 odd games experience in the conference south/north.
If the club thought he was good enough to earn a pro contract surely it is better having a recognized CB rather than a stop gap, just for one match?
Nobody knew much about Tom White, Mike Trought or Mark Smith and I am pretty sure they were thrown in at the deep end at 18 or 19.
I remember Trought and Smith both at 18 helping to keep a clean sheet at Maine Rd v Goater and Taylor.

I’ve got a feeling that if Gibson only had a very low grade tear and has been left out as a precaution that JB may take a risk with him knowing that Kilgour and Thomas will be back the following week.
I’m not suggesting JB should do this but I remember years ago when squads were smaller how centre forwards would occasionally fill in at the back or even end their careers at the back. Jimmy Quinn did this a lot, Paul Warhurst moved the opposite way. Loft has the physicality to play the role against a physical/direct side but would he have the tactical awareness? I’d prefer Whelan personally.

It's certainly a headache for JB. Whelan was ok there in the Plymouth game, he reads the game well and made sure he never found himself isolated against their very speedy forwards, only got done for pace once the whole game, bit like the great Bobby Moore who was quite pedestrian around the pitch but always seemed to be in the right place, bit of a worry though, any beefy youngsters waiting in the wings? Lofty has the look of a good old-fashioned stopper but his heading ability would be a concern as would his positioning.

Are there different rules depending on the severity of the tackle etc.? Genuine question!

If the foul in question is dissent, it will normally be a two-match ban. If we are talking about violent conduct, the punishment is normally a three-match ban.

Two yellows and ‘professional’ foul red cards only have one match bans. Serious foul play, violent conduct etc treated more severely.

Belly Clarke Hoole Wheelan Gordon Coutts Finley McCormick Evans Collins Marquis
But I'd stick Evans at CB! Hopefully Grant or Gibson can play some part. Would bring Egan back if allowed

Any news on Anderson’s injury? Would have been an option for RB, moving Hoole to CB if fit.

Any news on Anderson’s injury? Would have been an option for RB, moving Hoole to CB if fit. He was having an x-ray yesterday so we’ll probably get some news today. If his toe is only bruised then he’ll be ok to play with some painkillers I’d have thought. Even if it’s broken there isn’t much they can do to treat it so again may come down to how much pain he can put up with. Do Rhino’s have toe’s anyway 😁!!

Hoole has been called up for Wales so will miss the Accrington game, so things arn't getting any better, hopefully we will get an experienced defender in before the weekend from the out of contract players still available something JB should have done before the season started. I pointed this out ages ago we have no defender with a few season of league one football under their belt at the club. Playing young defenders up against teams with experienced forwards is a worry especially at a higher level and the Ipswitch game proved that, youngsters sometimes panic and make rash decisions.jb Can't soley blame the players for what happened against Ipswitch.

Re Luca Hoole it is a friendly with Austria on Tuesday 27th September so technically he could pull out like Sion Spence did last season has it is not a qualifying match
