They should issue vouchers to those attending to give them priority buying tickets in the next round (should Rovers manage to win the tie). Same should be done in the papa johns trophy.

They will know from your purchasing history so no need for vouchers? (unless you buy in shop anonymously but even then you must pay with a card)

Missing a chance of away tickets to Liverpool,Arsenal or Man city in the 3rd round cos you didnt go to the Rochdale game might increase crowds (?)

One gets given up at the Turnstile, the other part you can keep?

Whatever anyone thinks of the early rounds of the cup, can anyone remember such a positive feeling about a squad?
The last time I felt so confident going into games was the Ollie almost season.
The club should be marketing the FA cup as a cheap way of attracting, new young fans, students, fairweather fans and those who cannot afford to watch league games.
IMO 4 to 5 thousand would be a poor attendance but if the sales team pulled their finger out they could be looking at 6-7 at least.
How hard can it be search out a few contacts at the UWE, the Uni, other work based colleges and local schools, come up with an informative action packed pdf poster and send a few emails? I bet a few people on here have the necessary skills if they have a spare 30mins.

Only 20 seats left now, and they are all singles.

Amongst all the jokes our FA Cup record has improved over the past few years. I went on last night and got my ticket in the East Stand, first time there this season after East Terrace and West Terrace. Mind you for the first time ever it took me ages to book it. Every time I booked a seat it timed me out, then it gave me 3 tickets but got one in the end. Looking forward to it.
UTG!

Opening only half the ground is sending out the message that the FA Cup is not as marketable as League One matches. Absolutely ridiculous!
With that negative approach, how is that helping to sell the game??

If we progress and the Club think it's worth it, they'll open up other areas.

Agreed - no point in having to staff and secure areas of the stadium that aren’t required at this point so it seems the decision was correct. Been a good opportunity for me to switch to the East Stand for a game this season which I wouldn’t have done otherwise, so as it stands, no complaints from me

Hey Gasheads , we’ve got a cup game coming up but we don’t think it’s of much interest so we’re only going to open half the ground . The atmosphere won’t be as good as half the stadium will be empty but it’s a bit better than a papa johns game . roll up all those that want tickets ?!

Only 18 seats left. So perhaps the club have mis judged the situation by not having enough seating available. I presume the Executive boxes will be used and part of the South stand will be available for away supporters?

To have sold out of seats more than five days before the match for anyone wishing to buy two seats together will have further supressed demand. Some will buy terrace tickets (at a cheaper price) but others won't go at all. I can understand closing the South and South-West Stands but to close the West Stand as well seems counter-productive.

There were plenty of youngsters & children with their parents in attendance at the Swindon game in the Pizza Shield. With this one being a fiver cheaper again (for adults at least), no reason why plenty wouldn’t return.
I don’t fear losing next generations of supporters to the 82ers, as we saw last season there were untolds amount of people under 30/40 coming to see Barton’s Gas. Men women boys girls, people from all corners of society. Particularly after yesterdays news, long May it continue.

Better than opening everything up and having 50% of it empty but still being Stewarded with all the costs that entails?
