Wether people agree with it or not the intention is/was to honour a young person who has lost their life. Where are u getting ‘woke’ from with that🙃🙃🙃 It's the virtue signalling, sympathy for people you've never met, roadside flowers generation - Maybe woke is the wrong expression. “Virtue signalling” there’s another one. Would you include wearing a poppy as virtue signalling or just a phrase you like the sound of?

I'll applaud DC at the start of the game but will NOT join in any 18th minute applause - even the Vale fans think it's insensitive to do that.

Was questioning the use of “virtue signalling” as if that explained anything.

Truly a horrendous idea in my view.
Well intentioned that it may be, but the specific timing and the circumstances surrounding the passing of young Ellie makes it far too on the nose
Honestly don't think DC or anyone should be put in such a potentially uncomfortable position when they just no doubt want to do his job

Well intentioned it maybe, but in my opinion definately not! A good round of applause at the start when he crosses the pitch is the way to go.

I was against this idea and still do not feel that it is right. DC had so many messages of goodwill when it happened and chose not to talk about it. indeed if it had not been for the public inquest then many of us would not have known .
Whilst the intention was well meant , I think that if the debate had been allowed to run its course then it would have been voted down but because a paper has chosen to run with the story before actually waiting for the debate to see itself through - an expectation now exists. If it turns out to be a damp squib because very few people do it -then it will be the worst possible outcome. it will go from being a tribute to being an insult.
The reality is that DC is too professional to let it get to him and i suspect that he would not even acknowledge it if it happens because he will be focussed on the game.
Either it happens and everyone joins in or it doesn't happen at all. DC is aware of the affection that our fans gave for him - he made that known when he visited at the Legends game in Mangotsfield.
