In the light of some recent atrocious (imo) official decisions, hypothetically would you welcome VAR in it's present form to the Mem?
I guess we will have no option when we get to the Prem before Them...?
Let's all have a mass debate...

An abridged version, yes but not the long and drawn out one that is now.

Perhaps var for goal line technology only in real time, but multiple camera angles for further training of officials post match...

Goal line tech only.
Have been in a stadium with VAR in operation more times than I can remember now and it is truly the pits.
No more so than the nations league Semi final against Holland in 2019 over in Porto. Lingard goes through in the 89th and buries the winner, absolute chaos in our end only to have it chalked off after a 4min delay to find he was ‘offside’ by a toenail. We went on to lose AET. That one stung.
The longest wait I’ve experienced was in the San Siro for Inter Vs Parma, Lukaku had a 6min wait to find out he’d made it 2-0. It destroys those euphoric moments no matter how long it takes or wether the decision goes your way or not.

This Rubbish should have no place in the game. The same as in other sports.

I’d rather money is invested first in professionalising refereeing and improving training and standards. Maybe some limited goal line technology in the meantime.

VAR is a great idea in principle but sadly the FA/FIFA have managed to make a right pigs ear of it. It should never take more than a few seconds to view. The rule (I always thought) was that it had to be a 'clear and obvious' foul/error etc. If it takes five minutes to view then it obviously isn't clear and obvious and therefore they should go with the refs original decision. Maybe using the cricket system of the Captain of either team getting 3 goes at questioning decisions and once all 3 have been used ..tough!

Wonder how much money has been invested in the dreadful Brazilian referee for England v France? Referees make mistakes no matter what level they are at. On MOTD the pundits spend as much time moaning about the professional referees as they do talking about the games. With the referees we've had recently, the games would need VAR about 10 times per game - we'd never get home!

Saw VAR for the first time at a few Sydney FC matches in the Australian A League and it worked well. Everyone knew what was happening it didn’t take long and the right decision was made. But since it was introduced in this country I think you’ve just removed one man’s interpretation of what’s right or wrong regarding decisions with another persons interpretation, the VAR officials. Having seen it in action at AFCB I would not want to see it at a Rovers match. It has taken the joy of scoring away, it takes an age to decide, in the meantime the crowd doesn’t have a scoobie’s about what is happening. No communication and apart from offsides I’m not sure the correct decision is made. Improve how it is organised or implemented or improved then perhaps but as it stands, no.
Overall I would not want it though, tbh, I doubt if the fans will have any say in whether it is implemented or not. The FA/ EFL will decide for us.
UTG!

VAR is great. The idiots operating it are not.
I’d welcome it if they stuck to ‘clear and obvious’ errors like they are supposed to

Think they should look at rugby and see what does and does not work. A slight but noticeable shift by the players in televised rugby last year to question the ref more. This year has seen a welcome return to "yes sir".
