Such a shame, saw him live as a mate had a spare ticket. Did not really get into him prior to that, he was truly awesome and his work with Roger Waters on amused to death showed he was every bit as good, if not better, than Gilmour

No-one could copy Jeff. He was the finest Electric Guitarist on this Earth. The first Jeff Beck Group featured Rod Stewart singing Blues/Rock - Rod at his very best. Check out Truth Album.

Saw Beck, Bogert and Appice at the Hippodrome in 1974..loudest thing I've ever heard. Ears still ringing. RIP Jeff.

Colston hall, a few years back and with his female bassist. I was truly awestruck. Hendrix was never my cup of tea but Twitter is full of people who saw both , saying beck had a wider range of styles

There is no argument
List of Becks achievements is equivalent to a "Match Day Thread", List of Sir Brian's is equivalent to the Fruit Market Thread!
Don't get me wrong, Beck was a great guitarist and admired by Sir Brian, but Sir Brian's achievements are unequalled by any Guitarist or even artist (apart from maybe McCartney)

Comparisons are odious !💙 But bound to be made as each has their own cult type following but, where it changes are when other guitar “legends” are quick to give praise and so many have already done so with Beck. I now do not get involved and especially where Hendrix is mentioned. You can get into some really bad name calling, from others, if you do not say you think no one is even close to Hendrix or if you are a fan of Pink Floyd but prefer any other guitarist, many have been used in Roger Waters tours and have played Gailmours solos and been every bit as good, to my ears, anyway.

Vai, Van Halen, Blackmore, Zappa, Page, Gilmour, all legends.
