Dreadful performances over the past fortnight from our little club have sent dreams crashing. Still, probably to be expected of our club. UTG. 2 wins and 1 defeat in the last fortnight. Spot on. Surely anyone of us would have settled for the position we are in now back in September. Disappointing yesterday but nothing has really changed has it? Still within touching distance of the play-offs (not that I think we’ll get there, just missing out). We are what we are, a mid-table League 1 side who I’m pleased to say are looking up not down at the moment. In football, of course, this may change but I’d settle for where we are now, being realistic. UTG!

He's still as fanatical about the Rovers as he ever was. So he misses a few games due to other commitments, not a problem. Presumably he would have been just as "fanatical" about Gillingham if Scallyway had accepted his offer for them as they were the first club he tried to buy. He only went after them because he knew nothing about the rovers being on the market ?

But seeing the boss at a game is uplifting. Certainly sends a message He lives and works in Jordan, not Fishponds! Pretty sure I've seen him in the Van Dyke getting ratted at 9am.

Probably, but he didn't. He now owns us and is just as passionate about that as he ever was. I hope you're right. Why wouldn't he be?

Really poor performance. Accrington are one of the worst sides we've played this season but we never looked like scoring. Yes, their first goal might have been disallowed, but they could easily have been at least 1 up at half time. Another long punt forward by the keeper left their striker running through on goal, and he really should have scored. Honest question, how many players do you think are having a great season? For me, it's only Collins and Coburn, and it's almost entirely down to them we're in the top half. I'm not sure how many others are L1 standard. If we only had Marquis, Loft, and Saunders up front I'm sure we'd be in the bottom 4. With exception of Collins, Coburn, and possibly Rossiter, I don't think any player warrants more than 6/10 for their season performance so far. Lots of work to be done in the January window to achieve a top half finish in my opinion. We have been found out a little with our style of play. With a back three and the high press, there is a fair amount of space behind the defenders who are on the halfway like. We are being done with simple balls over the top, behind the defence and in front of the keeper. Our defenders seem to be a bit off the pace against the forwards in this league and Belshaw is also being caught out by the pace of the opposition forwards. Its too easy. The problem I think Finlay is having a good season.

Yes watching brentford versus Bournemouth didn't cheer me up,its like everyone we used to play has left us miles behind, very depressing. Tbf for every Brentford and Bournemouth, there's a Notts County, Oldham, Southend and Stockport. Brentford & Bournemouth have also overtook the likes of Sunderland, Sheffield Wednesday, Derby etc as well. I wouldn't get too depressed about it. Correct. And at the moment AFCB fans are in deep depression, not sure where the next goal is going to come from, let alone the next point. Watching the last two home matches against Palace and Burnley was like being surrounded by a crowd of manic depressives. The football was awful as well. I suspect BRFC fans are far happier atm than AFCB fans! UTG!

Their owners were advised to stay away at their home game against Southampton yesterday due to death threats.

This is the point to me, we have played well, other weeks played poor, we need a few signings particularly in defence, we still have lots to improve on and as always need a good transfer window… ..however, when I go to games this season I see happy faces, even in defeat I see and hear other supporters accept it and quickly look forward to the next game. I struggle to remember a time when so many believe we’ll bounce back, the majority enjoy the football and trust the process 👍🏾

if only we could be playing those top flight teams miles ahead of us like ipswich portsmouth wednesday derby charlton barnsley. Whilst I understand people comments about other teams on the decline, at least they have been there and done it,we have been nowhere near division one since about 75,even the Ted's managed three seasons in the top division,a and sadly I don't think we will ever see it. I always think of Blackpool when this kind of question comes up. When we won the league in 90, the last game was against Blackpool (away for those that might not have been born at that point!). We were going up to division 2, they were going down to division 4. Honest question, since that point. Would you rather than their history or ours?

If Collins leaves then surely JB will be given the funds to find a suitable replacement? Plus what about Belshaw, Hoole (who'll be a year older) like wise Gordon, plus Finley and Evans, and most likely Sinclair? Grant? Anderson? It's easier to list the players who are likely to move on Coutts, Whelan, Marquis and possibly Loft plus Gibson (if he doesn't sign permanently) and Coburn. The major issue next summer is we could need an entirely new front line. Exactly, which is why we need to go for it this season. We will have a better chance of retaining that front line if we got promoted. I'm not sure Loft will move on. He hit a streak of brilliance before he got injured. Is playing more like last season though at the moment. He will come good. Hoole will be off. He has been a massive positive (though if you listen to some fans, we should get rid of him). I think he is good enough for championship football and someone will come in for him over the summer. Grant and Anderson have their injury problems. Both too injured at the moment to be considered part of the nucleus. If Anderson doesn't come back for a run in the first team this season then we should get rid. Same with Grant. I do enjoy watching Grants enthusiasm when he has played. As for JB being given funds to find a suitable replacement. That is always easier said than done mind. Think of the pre and post JCH days. We didn't have a particularly good front line before he joined us. He was a one man battering ram and goal machine when he was with us and when he left, we struggled to replace his goals (even though we got £2m?, £1.25 on signing? for him). I'm not sure we're ready for the Championship. In every department.

Barton tweeting lots about refs today. Not saying he’s wrong but it’s very much deflection. Wish he’d occasionally “man up” and admits to some mistakes. Hopefully we are feeling more positive before our next bogey side visit the mem, but not too confident we’ll sign anyone yet.

Wael might well live in Jordan, but that does not prevent updates for us Gasheads. To continually say nothing about the stadium situation is not going down at all well with many fans. His communication is abysmal!

It’s football. Good days, bad days and over a season you hope you’ll have just about enough good days to keep you up or at least not going down. And as a group of Rovers fans what have we had? Several Wembley days, good and bad. Two fantastic last days over the past 6 years at least. And for the oldies amongst us wonderful days at Blackpool and a brilliant night at Southend. And now we’re as high as we’ve been this century. Yes, there are always disappointments but in a way you need those to enjoy the highs when they come. All in all I wouldn’t change what we’ve been. (Well I might have changed that match against Mansfield)
UTG!

We lost yesterday because we were poor not because the ref didn't give a decision our way, even if we'd had VR would be seen as a fundamental error or the ref just deciding that it was completely accidental, which it probably was under the latest rules. Although who's going to fund VR at our level anyway? Accy should have scored, when Connolly once again lost a routine boot upfield, and we conceded a second goal anyway. Apart from Lofts soft shot I can't recall us troubling the keeper? Personally I'd like the club to inform JB not to discuss any refs decisions on social media or with the press as I can't see continually criticising them helps our cause.

Problem is that sitting back and enjoying being mid table in L1 usually ends with us back in L2 or even lower! I don't sense JB will just sit back and enjoy being a mid table L1 side, the worry is he'll walk if Wael doesn't back him this month. I can't recall Wael ever missing so many consecutive games in the past, which is odd given that we're having our best season since the DC era, he even attended most games during the height of the pandemic.

His comments about having professional refs in L1 and 2 I agree with though.

No visible sign of new stadium progress, not as visible at games, barely heard from him in last year or two.

No visible sign of new stadium progress, not as visible at games, barely heard from him in last year or two. He's not going to announce anything until the time is right and we've been through why he hasn't been at games recently. He was at the World Cup wearing a Rovers shirt for crying out loud. As for being visable at home games, unless he sat next to me in the East Stand I wouldn't have the faintest idea whether he was there or not.

I am probably making too much of this. Just worried something has changed is all Somebody who was at the ground said that JB just walked to the tunnel end to watch the remaining minutes. Maybe he wanted to view things from a different position than the dugout?
