Wrexham, 2003 0-2 down half time, Graydoom in charge, Wrexham added a third early into second half. I left, wasn't the only either.

I used to always stay to the final whistle in the old days. Nowadays I don't need too much of an excuse to slope off to the pub early... the most glaring error for this was when we played Oxford at home in the FA Cup last season. With the game in extra time and the pub closing time in mind, I started campaigning to my mates to head to the pub as soon as Bodin made it 1-2 to Oxford (1st minute of ET). Then Oxford scored to make it 1-3 a minute or so later and the decision was made. I wasn't too popular with my mates when the news filtered through we had fought back to win 4-3 and missed some epic limbs (and more taunting of Matty Taylor)

88/89 v Gillingham at Twerton. Phil Kite was playing well v the Gills. I think Devon clattered into Kitey meaning he had to have treatment and by 90th minute it was still 0-0 but my Dad had to be somewhere but there were a few mins of injury time. We were walking out from the Popular Side and John Ateyo left the grandstand. Ny Dad was of the generation that went to City one week and Rovers the next and said Alright to him. Ateyo said this lot will never score and as soon as he said that, there were the raised voices of anticipation and then the cheers of a goal. Ateyo said well what do I know about football. Just as we started climbing up the hill to get to the car, we heard the cheers for the second. Keep the faith and Never leave early, you never know! Have left early too many times to remember, lots of times when first season at Twerton and due to not really knowing the area and i used to park a fair distance away. I always got stick from the Kingswood lads for it. I remember leaving a few times but when i have known there is no chance of getting a draw let alone winning and again, to get out before the majority of cars. My father used to take us boys to both teams games too although i do not remember Ateyo but i do remember Clive Whitehead and Chris Garland as they were genuinely exciting players. It really was a working mans game then and so it was a relatively inexpensive day for my father to get his 4 boys out of the house plus most of the Polish 2nd gen were reds and mainly because of the colour of Poland flag and what colour they played in. I, quickly, started exclusively going to Rovers once dad deemed me old enough to go on my own, with large groups from the area.

When I was a kid my Dad bolted early every single game…”just to beat the traffic”….it drove me mad. The only game we ever stayed to the end was ‘74 promotion game , where we ran onto the pitch. I vividly remember him getting into a fight with some Ginger haired pr1ck who knocked me over in his rush to get on. Probably why I don’t have any friends with Ginger hair. I always stay to the bitter end now, it’s the least we can do as fans and sometimes that loyalty is rewarded. Then I have a few beers in the Thatchers bar….” Just to beat the traffic “ The only ever time i saw my dad lose it and beat the crap out of 2 away fans was V Watford at Eastville. One pinched my hat and dad asked him to give it back, anyway, long story short. Dad KO’d both and i wore my hat, proudly. It was such a shock as he was the archetypal silent type.

Think due to 93 clubs being in the league for one season( Barry Fry was manager of a team from Kent) there was a preliminary round in the league cup involving us and Boston and think they beat us.

The 3 reasons It’s important to me to stay to the end. We’ve got the win or I can see that they have fronted up and put a shift in, maybe just beaten by a better team…but I’m clapping them off. If they have underperformed you can see it ,they know it. But I stay to watch them off , I’m not clapping I ‘m not booing. They can see I’m still here, I will always be here. This is my Club. Most importantly by the time I get to the Bar, Matey’s got the beers in.

It was due to Ipswich having qualified for the UEFA Cup so left an odd amount of teams in the first round of the league cup. I’m fairly sure we were in the fixture due to finishing one off the bottom of the entire football league the season before and Boston had just been promoted? But yeh they beat us 2-0 at the Mem. I was in the South Stand with my Gramp. One of the lowest Rovers lows that was.

Ran the line at Burnley v Maidstone.Barry Fry was manager and getting stuffed at HT.He was unusually downbeat but Rovers beat Blackburn on the same day so I was euphoric.Weird the 93 clubs that year.Burnley league div 4!!!!!

It happened again in 2011/12 after Birmingham won the League Cup & were relegated in the same season, Crawley Vs Wimbledon was the Preliminary on that occasion, so not alone in that moment of shame at least!

Left as soon as the 2nd went in. I wanted to watch the England v Scotland game and if the ref played enough ET to cover the time wasting it would have been half time before i left the stand.
To be honest i wish i had left after the first goal went in.

I’ve left early twice, both being this season. Once at Barnsley away and recently at Accrington away. In my defence it was mainly because of my sister (being a half arsed rovers fan) and her boyfriend being a Leeds fan, both complaining wanting to catch the early train 👀 don’t blame them though, the weather was horrific and so was the game

The combination of endless torrential rain all evening and a shocking Rovers performance
