Same Season though I think. Bloody Chelsea. Did we not have the only person to score at both venues in a final in one season ? No, Drogba scored at both venues that season too

Think due to 93 clubs being in the league for one season( Barry Fry was manager of a team from Kent) there was a preliminary round in the league cup involving us and Boston and think they beat us. It was due to Ipswich having qualified for the UEFA Cup so left an odd amount of teams in the first round of the league cup. I’m fairly sure we were in the fixture due to finishing one off the bottom of the entire football league the season before and Boston had just been promoted? But yeh they beat us 2-0 at the Mem. I was in the South Stand with my Gramp. One of the lowest Rovers lows that was. The lowest low for me Losing in Fa trophy at home to our former landlords Bath City at the Mem in what was thankfully our only trophy tie and only one season in the Conference Mind you on reflection that embarrassing fa cup home defeat to Chesham as former Rovers legend Barry Hayles came on as sub and within minutes set up their unlikely winner.

Funny thing that FA Trophy Match, doesn’t even register in my top 10 lowest Rovers lows. At all. Even at the time I wasn’t too bothered we’d lost the game and had been knocked out. We were still in the FA Cup & the league campaign was all that mattered, in my eyes anyway.

A run to the quarters/semis is a distraction from the league (when you're on the hunt for promotion). Losing at home to Bath was a teeny weeny bit embarrassing though

We like to get in the record books. First home team to ever play in the competition too i believe. Weren't we also the first Club to play in a Final at both the Millenium Stadium and Wembley? Maybe. I was there for both! With my dad and my grandad ❤️ sadly neither are with us anymore but 2 very cherished memories!

That hit hard here Thank you polak 🙏I don't have many words to explain how much losing my dad has mattered to me since I lost him, I'm only 32. But it means a lot to hear you say that 🙏 small things and all that!

I have 2 groups at the match. One is my mates and one is my family . I watch most the game with mates and walk down on about 80 mins to watch with fam. As I leave to move on 80 if we are losing I’ve had a few Sarcastic comments about “going home are we?” And disapproving looks. Have to explain myself. I should ask the guy on the tannoy to explain it

But it means a lot to hear you say that 🙏 small things and all that! Westy my father died in August of 2009, you would think that it got easier with time but, if anything, i miss him more now than i ever did. It’s the seemingly small things that can have me in tears and now coming up to 14 years. Things like hearing him sing while i was still in bed, his indefatigable nature and stoicism, him always bringing me a cup of tea as i was getting ready for work. He remained a soldier all of his life, would be up at 05:00, ablutions done by 05:15 and down the newsagents for 05:30, it would irritate him if i was still in bed at 07:00 and he would say you do realise the rich people have been out of bed and had 3 dumps by now 😂 He always had jokes to tell and was a true force of nature. My only words of solace are this, the pain never leaves you but you learn to live with it a little better with each day. I really am very sorry for your loss fella as it was my dad who took me to football too and i always think of him whenever i go. Keep your pecker up mate and remember, so long as you remember him, he is still alive. Take care and be kind to yourself

Bath City in the Trophy c. 80 mins. Wasn't in the mood for the vitriol.

I can honestly say ive never left a single game early. Shout out to the ones that do regularly and then walk at a snails pace down the east stand steps still watching game, but obscuring the view for the rest of us....if you are gonna leave....leave!
