Fall into relegation zone at any time after all the backing he said he's had, and yep he's got to go. Get us in play offs, and yep he's got to stay. Probably best chances are somewhere in between. Note: we were 17th in the February when we went on the surge culminating in Lambo at 'pools.... True...but that team was "together" ....and also a division below. We have to play some huge clubs in the run in. So he better get the togetherness back soon or we'll be back down there.

Lots of talk about the stadium again at the moment and there are suggestions that FM dream is over. Perhaps this news is known amongst staff and players. Joey and the players heads do look to have dropped.

We are on a bad run and it has been difficult to watch the last 2 games I have been to. MK and Burton. People have very short memories though. Rovers have won the last 6 away games I have been to. All under Barton. This is beyond my wildest dreams! We are still comfortably mid-table after being promoted. Just like Port Vale and Exeter. Forest Green are bottom of the league. Have some faith we'll pick up form again. UTG

We can't afford to have Oxford leapfrogging us next week.

6 weeks ago, we were talking about playoffs and worried Barton would be tempted elsewhere.
That's what makes football what it is. Happy? No. Concerned? A bit. Don't think now is the time, though, to suddenly change the management team.

When was the last time were a good league 1 side and looked comfortable all season?
I genuinely done get the stance from some...maybe last season we were spoilt after being soo good from January onwards.

The concern is we're getting dragged into a relegation fight without any battle. JB messing about bringing in a young goalie to play behind a young defence seems the last thing he needed to do.

I have my suspicions that should we end up in proper relegation dogfight, and the trapdoor starts to look inevitable, Barton will make the decision for us to keep another relegation off of his CV.

Could see him walking if we don’t turn it around. This season is now a write off and I think we just need to limp along to safety and start over in the summer.

Joe likes his 10 game blocks. 8pts,16pts and 13 pts i think are the hauls so far. So far 1pt from 2 games this block.
To stay up you need to hit the average of 11-12 pts per block. The last 6 games being pro rata.
So for the target of staying up Joe is still on target. So another 10 pts from the next 8 games is required.
Assuming that is reached we go into the last 6 games needing 7 pts. Fleetwood,Derby,Shef wed , Port vale ,Peterb , Bolton.
These next 8 games are really important.

Oldie I bet you were full of praise last season when we were winning every week right? Or do you only like to comment if things aren't so good?

Unlike DC it's not just JB walking as at least Eddie Jennings and Colin Gibson would have to follow him, as would probably Manger and Vinter. All the stats guys etc also seem to be north west based.

Oldie I bet you were full of praise last season when we were winning every week right? Or do you only like to comment if things aren't so good? Praise where praise is due. Watched a couple of good games this season at the mem and enjoyed them. Both 2-2 and hard fought. Watching them I had my doubts, but our strike force was "hot" Now they are not, it appears teams have worked us out and the manager appears incapable of reacting, tactically. That on top off two p*ss poor recruitment windows, unprofessional man management and stupid remarks to the press. But like you I am p*ssed off with another defeat to a poor team, desperate for us not to get relegated. If we do I really fear that free fall beckons.

If the summer recruitment was so poor why did we have an outside chance of the play offs up until the wheels came off in December?
If Rossiter & Gibson had managed to stay fit and Thomas not jumped ship/was forced out we'd probably still be in the top 10.
The January window was a disaster but that seems to be down to players choosing other clubs, whether that was down to money, location or players not willing to work with JB is the big unknown.

Suppose its a good thread for those that have waited and hated for 18 months. Not really. Those who have hated and waited would have preferred a successful JB and then he would leave with us in a better place.

I’m no Barton hater or lover
For me the equation is simple
Is he a good coach destined for better things or another name on a massive list of managers on the merry go round?
I’m watching to see if I see tangible evidence that he has the ability to create a competitive side
So far it’s very mixed. When it’s good it’s very good. When it’s bad it’s really bad.
There can be no excuses for him this season, we need to give him the chance to prove that he deserves a chance next season, otherwise we will be in a right mess.
Surely we can muster 4 more wins or 3 and a few draws to keep us up?
Then he has the summer to learn from the mistakes and put together a squad that is balanced and more experienced in this nasty tough old league
