I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm starting to think our only hope is to change the manager. Considering our recent performances and results against some of the weakest teams in L1, I can't honestly see where the next win is coming from.
For me, next weeks game against an Oxford side who are in equally poor form (P7, W0, D1, L6), is nearly a must win; or at the very least, a must not lose.
A draw next week and I'd give him another couple of games, but if we fail to win any of our next 3, I think he'll probably have to go if we want any chance of staying up this season. We're showing little sign of turning this poor run around and our fixtures after the next 3 look a lot tougher than those we've recently lost.
IF we fail to win any of our next 3, we'll have lost to Accrington, Morecambe, MK Dons, Lincoln, and Burton, and failed to beat an Oxford side that has W0, D1, L6 of their last 7, and a FGR side that hasn't won in 13 games.
That would be 10 games without a win in all competitions, 7 of those against sides fighting relegation; losing at least 6, possibly 9.
Ipswich aside, we've just had pretty much the easiest run of games we could hope for.
We've lost all 5 to sides that are or were fighting relegation.
We've scored 2 goals and conceded 12.
In our last 4 games, we've managed 36 shots, 11 on target, compared to 69 shots, 28 on target for the opposition. We managed just 1 shot on target against MK at home and 2 shots on target against Burton yesterday.
For me, we have to win 1 of our next 3. If not, we either roll the dice or stick with JB and pray for a miracle. I say miracle because IF we've haven't won in 10 and failed to beat Accrington, Morecambe, MK Dons, Lincoln, Burton, Oxford & FGR, I seriously struggle to see where the 12-16 points we'll probably need to stay up are coming from. Considsering a new manager might need a bit of time, I personally think a decision needs to be made after the next 3 games as to whether to stick or twist.
I appreciate some don't want him sacked, and that's fair enough, we're all entitled to our opinion. The poll was really just to see what we're all thinking at the moment.
What does everyone else think?
Note: The 6th defeat was in the Papa John. Didn't actually mean to include that. Forgot it wasn't a league game.

No. He needs to own this. His team. His tactics. No excuses or passing the blame. Sack him if we go down.

If we don’t get 3 points from the next 3 we’ll need to start seriously thinking about making some awkward decisions.

Problem is, again, we don't have the type of player for a relegation scrap. Sack the manager or not we've still got a bunch of kids. Talented yes, but very green around the Gills and very easily picked off by seasoned league 1 players. We are not dangerous from set pieces in the slightest, can't go direct, it's a bit of a mess to be honest. I think our only chance is to stick with what weve got and play like we did against Ipswich.

Absolutely not.
What a silly thread.
I am not watching a team that is not trying. We have a makeshift side due to injuries and players out of form. We look disjointed and out of confidence.
Please lock before it gets too embarrassing.

Thoughtless thread at best .... Do you not realise just how far Barton has influence and his people in the very extremities of this club.
If he goes..... and I think he will walk when he takes us down this season, the damage he will do to the infra structure of the club will be like nothing we have seen before.
Wael has built our house on Barton Foundations , with Barton rooms and decorations and Barton utensils .... Strip it all out and it may take years and another visit to Non league to correct it.

Please lock before it gets too embarrassing. How's the team "make shift" when only Gibson is out injured, which is down to JB signing an injury prone player, and Finley the only player suspended? Personally I'd give JB the next 3 games to get a win or at least 3 pts - Oxford (A), Barnsley (H), FGR (A) - if he can't then he may as well depart as I doubt he'll get another win this season, only he, and his sidekick EJ, can take the blame for what seems to have been a shocking January

No real difference than when DC was here and GC managed to turn things around? If the players do have issues with JB' s style of management, I've no idea if they do, then they may see any replacement as a breath of fresh air. I'm not sure Wael can just meekly standby JB if he can't turn things around PDQ.

We have been struck with injuries all season. I think it is a big knee jerk reaction, we weren't far off the play offs a month ago. Everyone getting excited and now you're asking for a managerial change. We are mid table side, admit we are very poor right now, but trust that we will get ticking again.

Mid table but dropping like a stone, if we can't hold out to beat Button at home or beat struggling Oxford next week, when at least Finley should return, you do have to wonder where our next win will come from.
JB does seem to struggle to turn poorly performing teams around, he was sacked from Fleetwood after they started struggling and just gave up the last time we were in L1.

You flip and flop like a demented trout. I can't keep up. You were calling people out for being anti-Barton a couple of days ago. Including me. I am people.
