Some people saying that JB will walk in order to avoid another relegation on his CV. Whereas others have said that we are stuck with hi,m because he runs everything at the club, from top to bottom. All rather confusing.

I haven’t gone back to page 1 tbf, so could have already been answered.
But right now this week who replaces him??

Incredible to think anyone would stick with him IF we went down (considering how we were doing at one point).
FWIW, I think we'll just about survive because of points on the board, despite being bottom 4 quality wise right now.
But to see so many prepared to stay behind him IF he got a second relegation with us on his CV.....pretty astonishing. Seems he's unsackable 🧐

All rather confusing. True and fair. I'll be honest, I would be surprised it he stuck around if it started to look highly likely we'd go down. Honest guess? He would effectively become so outrageously outspoken he'd force Wael's hand - I.e get himself the sack so that he doesn't have to walk. He'd engineer it such that he would blame everyone - including Wael - so that he wasn't the one at fault. That would be my guess. That said, I think we will JUST about survive due to points on the board. Will be close tho - I give us 100/1+ odds we end up with more than 46 points. Our defence is far worse than the last time we got relegated and the goals have dried up also. We are in a very bad place right now. Need the season to finish and go back to the drawing board. One things for certain - we need to be less reliant on loans ; the constant complete re-building is not healthy.

My opinion is around IF the unthinkable happened. Whelan wouldn't be a disastrous shout tho. Bet Coutts is respected too... Edit: as stand-in I mean.

Totally agree re; loans 💙utg He's a victim of his own success tbf. He just needs to learn to balance it - 1 or 2, 3 max; all of the calibre he's capable of. At the moment we're getting talent all over the pitch we can never realistically retain and are having to start from scratch again each time.

Didn’t JB make an offer to Wael last season to walk away for nothing when we were on a bad run of results early on (apologies if I dreamt that). If that was true it doesn’t correlate with the picture you’re painting of a man that would only leave by deliberately forcing the owners hand by poor behaviour?

He offered yes, but if anything that backs up what I'm saying - quitting without actually quitting. I.e sack me, I won't quit.

Seems he's unsackable 🧐 Probably a result of a poorly set out poll - 4 outcomes all sacking the manager and just one option for those backing him. The poll doesn’t really provide anything useful.

To me, offering to quit without a penny compensation (almost unheard of at any level in professional football) when Wael was under massive pressure to make a change seems vastly different to someone who would engineer a sacking.

Possibly, yes. And ultimately only time will tell who's opinion is correct. The hope is that we turn the corner sharpish and neither of us have to find out!

Agreed. However, ~45% would keep him not matter what, suggests 50% of the fanbase are considering how long to keep Barton. Realistically we know how it goes, if we lost the next 5 in a row theres no way the same people would still say "keep no matter what". They'd all shift up a couple of places.

Personally I think Barton has earned more respect (footballing terms) than being sacked after the first drop in form. It happens to everyone at some point.
However, if we're winless after the next 7 games I don't see how his position is tenable. That would be what, 12/13 games without a win and no double in a proper relegation fight.
We'd be doomed, but I also dont/can't believe that'll happen either

Chopping and changing managers clearly doesn't work (BG/PT)....
This season is now obviously a right off, and with what he has done, JB has earned the right to continue for the time being.
My view is that whilst we dreamed for a short period of play offs, we would have taken 12th-16th at the start of the season.
We'll be safe, let's give him another summer to forge the squad and go from there.
Whilst he hasn't helped himself with the January window, the amount of injuries would disrupt any squad.
He still has my backing, but please just stop with the constant jibes and keep quiet for a bit
