Bit of a random question, but since I had my first season ticket at about 11 (I'm mid 30s now) I'd never gone more than however long the off season is without watching the Gas.
I couldn't make the Sunderland game (last game we had with fans before Covid), but I was at Mansfield (first competitive game we had back), so my run is about 18 months.
Just wondering if someone has gone super long (living abroad or whatever). Always sad when life gets in the way of watching the Gas but always respect people who use forums or whatever to try and keep up with goings on

Living in Bath I hated it when Rovers moved here. “We are Bristol Rovers not Bath” was my mantra so I put what would have been my entrance money into the Share Scheme. I’m not going to open old wounds working it all out but 86 to 96 so let’s call it 10 years. Haven’t missed many since.

I'm probably a little young to understand the politics (I did go to Twerton, but we're talking an age where I wouldn't have had a clue what's going!). Seems mad to think you wouldn't go with the Gas moving even closer to home but you obviously had your reasons which I respect.

Around 2003 to late 00’s when I started playing Mens football on a Saturday at 16, I didn’t make many Saturdays. I’d only see midweek home and aways instead.
Also most of 2012/13, a whole season I was putting almost everything I earned into the mortgage deposit savings. Must’ve seen 5/6 matches if that.
Haven’t missed many since.

Regular at Eastville and almost every home game at Twerton, a season ticket holder once I started work and pay my own way, up until I had a family when I needed to be a little more selective.
Haven't been able to attend many games since 2005 and probably none in the past 6 years. I'm a carer for my son, so I can't make it until we have more and better wheelchair access/spaces.

Probably a period of around 20 years between 1990 and 2010 when I don’t think I went to a game. Numerous and valid reasons (moving away from the area, working shifts and raising a young family, amongst others) but I always made sure I caught as many commentaries as I could.
Went to Eastville regularly from 1966 until the Twerton move, and then intermittently until 1990.
Made up for it since though as held an ST for the last 8 years, and do around 10 awaydays a season these days.

Yep , I like to think the 2/3 thousand that did the trek over to Bath for that first season or two saved the club . Didn’t miss a game .

All this season so far due to the inability to be able to stand and the inability of the club to make the club more accessible to fans with disabilities, still it's International women's day today and the club has invited 10 potential female fans for free, brilliant.

I didn’t attend many games from 2001-2006 as I was still playing to a decent standard and then moved to London and never got back for many games.
Started going again in 2007 after I moved back and had to stop playing myself in 2008 after dislocating my knee playing in a game at Bristol Manor Farm.
Been a ST holder since 2012 and haven’t missed many games since.

I think three years is my longest. I went to the last game of the season in 2012 (we got stuffed away to Dagenham) then moved abroad a month later. Didn't attend another game until I flew back for the 2015 play off final.
Our first home game of the 2019 season and then not again until the first game this season was another long stretch. Although that was largely out of my hands not being able to get back to the UK for more than two years.
I normally only come back to the UK in the summer and that's normally July. If I am luckily I might still be in the country's for the start of the season.

A random question, but already some great replies.
I've been following the Gas for over 40 years, living away in Northampton, London and now Spain, but always get back for some games (six thus far this year including last Saturday v Barnsley)
BUT more importantly, we all know THE GAS as a consistent in our lives, i've gone to games with so many different people, had so many great experiences and irrespective of health, family situation etc. see BRFC as probably the one constant in my life. I can't imagine life without the GAS and really feel for those supporters who have lost their football club

I reckon I've seen at least 90% of our games on iFollow since it started only missing a handful. I just wish we had it for the 2015/16 promotion season. Whilst I mentioned earlier my longest gap is around three years, I went nearly six years without going to the Mem. Whenever I do go back though it feels like I've never been away!

Same as Madrid really. I was a regular during the 90’s at both Twerton and the move back to the Mem. Moved away in 2000 up London way to start a new life and missed most of the 2000’s….I try and get to as many away games (up this way) whenever Rovers are in town. The Gas have always been the one constant in my life (other than the queen of course!). I use this forum to keep up to date religiously and respect everybody’s opinions…so thanks everyone for keeping me informed over the years! 👍

Yes, fully agree Qatar. Really helped, especially during lockdown

About 3 weeks.
Planning on doing some travelling in September/October so will miss a good chunk of next season, probably still renew my ST though.

I left Bristol in 2018 relocated to Somerset where I did become homeless for just over 2 1/2 years. My last game I saw was around Late March or early April at a very good guess. So for me about 5 Years.
I have my own flat now since September of last year and I'm now working again so I aim to be able to start attending games again this coming new season
