There will still be a post match press conference and the pre match stuff will probably be in the bag anyway. We will lose the JB interview about team selection and the BBC after the match interview at about 5.40pm but thats it. The club is owned by an individual and i suspect that he chooses the direction that the club goes in - which is his right

We won’t be talking to the BBC before or after today’s game. #BristolRovers #WeStandWithGary
I'm in full agreement, hopefully other clubs follow suit

I'm slightly disappointed that our club has decided to take a stance on this. The fanbase was already split under the Joey Barton appointment which has only just really settled down. This could split fans again as different views/opinions have already started on Twitter since the announcement.

It would also 'split' the fanbase if we didn't show support.

Also why was Alan Sugar not subjected to the same rules when he voiced out ?

Agree with the decision but I hope this is a one off as the reality is the local press are far removed from central HQ and a lot of Gasheads rely on those interviews to keep up to date.

Keep out of politics, like the bbc will give two shits about us not speaking to them. Plus , lineker is and always has been a complete w**ker. That is all.

Feel for Geoff 20man.
To win over City fans after his history must have been difficult but he seems a decent bloke and has funny anecdotes and quite impartial.
I am sure he will be bombarded by fans asking his views, which will put him in a difficult position.
He is no doubt an intelligent man, but probably will feel uneasy about talking about his personal thoughts on the subject. He is paid, and no doubt wants to talk about sport, not politics.

Gentle reminder to please keep these threads (that inevitably will divide opinion into political leanings) respectful and civil. Disagreements will happen, but if it descends into name calling and tit for tat politics, the threads will be moved or locked.

UTG Not when you are being paid over a million a year and know the company's policies you shouldn't!! He would know, what he can and can't say. He would have attended courses on it, I have previously for rubbish jobs! A lot of employer's will check social media, before employing people know. If your employer pays you to stay impartial on social media, it's not hard to stick to it! Freedom of speech, is just a cop out and an excuse. He knew he was breaking the rules and gets paid enough to stick to them!
