Was in Box 3 today and should have been the hospitality guest but was so watered off that he wasnt in the squad he just ignored everyone.
I can understand his frustration - what was the point in bringing him all the way down from tranmere on loan if we arent going to use him. If he is going to be Dawsons replacement for Alfreton/play offs he should at least be on the bench.

I couldn't care tbh. Why change a winning formula? Who would he replace on the bench? He'll get some time now Dawson's gone.

I assume we're paying him a reasonable wage, if so, it he really going to be that upset??
Although it was odd Gosling was on the bench at Kiddy but not yesterday as surely he's a better option than Balanta on the right wing?

"It's very difficult, with only six games of the season remaining, to bring in a player who has the ability to step straight into the side if selected," Clarke told the club website. "We will be without five players this weekend and it's imperative that we have cover in the event of any more players missing through injury in the remaining weeks of the season and Abdulai fits that bill." www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32067329

It was Monkhouse who crossed the ball in but to be fair to Dawson he did not really get a lot of good possession as to be honest Lockyer is a poor passer of the ball and secondly 90% of the time the ball goes down our left side or is hoofed. This is the same as Macclesfield where Balanta played on the right wing. A winger needs to receive the ball early to run at players. Dawson still managed yesterday to put over a couple of good crosses yesterday but I agree not a great game.

Dawson links up better with Leadbitter as Leads always looks to bring the ball forward and can link play better where as Tom is more of a static defender and will just play long balls.

Yesterdays substitution of Dawson replaced by Balanta, looks like a good indication of who Dawson's replacement is going to be.

I agree that Dawson looks a better player when he has a full back supporting him. It means that the defenders have 2 players to watch instead of 1.
I dont think that Leadbitter deserved to be dropped and now that Dawson has gone it is important that he is returned to the side as he is our only real pace option on that wing

Leadbitter probably didn't deserve to be dropped. the reports I read about his play especially his attacking recently have been glowing. However DC is picking a team to win every week, and this week Leadbitter was unlucky to miss out. I'm not sure Baggie will even get a game. Let's face it Ellis played on the wing for Wales the other week. On the commentary for the game against Southport I remember a couple of mentions of Ellis getting a cross in. No reason why Ellis shouldn't move out to the wing.

At one point yesterday Dawson was marked by 3 Southport players, Leadbitter would I'm sure have used is pace to get up and support him and use that opportunity better. Not a criticism of Tom Lockyer but in my view if DC wants him in the team it should be at centre half because we have better players available elsewhere.

He was signed as cover for the squad and Dawson. If Balanta gets injured, then Dawson goes back what happens?? Everyone will moan that we should have brought in a replacement. He hasn't played for a while so is probably working on his fitness in case he is needed. Same with Lucas, we brought him back, good management, just in case. We don't want to be left playing players out of position like last season and it's good to have options on the bench.

He was brought in the make up the numbers, if he's not good enough to keep Balanta off the bench then he should spend less time moaning and more time trying to get better haha
