The hearing was fast tracked due to needing a decision only to get a judge that then f**ks about in making a decision

The hearing was fast tracked due to needing a decision only to get a judge that then flips about in making a decision Errr, no, the hearing was fast-tracked to get it into the court schedule ahead of some more menial things. Let's all go back and remember the 'legal advice' various people found and/or gave to the forum towards the end of the JR - it seems to be exactly the same in this hearing... The judge can give a verbal decision almost immediately at the end of the hearing and then follow it up with a written decision at a later date. Or they can wait and give the written decision at a later date. The general consensus from the 'legal experts' on the various forums (and by that I mean people who can use google) as that a verbal decision is (in general) much more likely to be appealed by the losing side. So once again we reach the realization that we're in this to win it or lose it - appeals will hopefully be too costly an option for the losing side, because an appeal from either side means (timewise) the final nail in the coffin for the UWE stadium - if it's not started by Christmas this year it will never be started as that will once more delay completion by another season and mean it's financially prohibitive.

Regardless you still sense Judge Roth would have been quicker off the mark with his Judgement, the way he dealt with the earlier hearing.

That does not guarantee that he would have come to a decision by now.
Our legal team told me at the Court that they were more than happy that Mrs Justice Proudman was dealing with the case as she is a very experienced Judge in this sphere.

I bet if there was a referendum, that the people in that area would vote overwhelmingly to stay out of Bristol.
I live in Weston-Super-Mare and would campaign vigorously to stay in North Somerset.

Bristol would get more council tax money but would never build a new road because the bloody Greens would block everything, then the greens could move into the new taken green fields and turn that into Bristol village. Bristol should never be allowed more land as long as the Greens are anywhere near it !

I reckon she can't decide. And will order a rock, scissors, paper playoff on The Strand. Best of three. As long as it's not a coin toss... over the phone!!

I certainly hop Emersons Green stays out of Bristol! They can keep their f**king 20mph speed limits!
I find south Glos a far better council to deal with on the whole to be honest and wouldn't want to change. No chance.

Count me among the People's Front of South Glocestershire. Because every Sunday is special in Pilning & Severn Beach *twitches*
Btw can anyone who remembers the link to the .gov site tell me if we're in court tomorrow?

I think you would be safe in Weston. It's more the connected areas like Kingswood, Staple Hill, Downend, Mangotsfied, Frenchay they are on about

Mondays court lists are out and guess what ? We are not on it. But in the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter....it's an 18 month build, so when we win it doesn't matter if it's today or November....as long as we win and the UWE is still ready to go.,...

But in the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter....it's an 18 month build, so when we win it doesn't matter if it's today or November....as long as we win and the UWE is still ready to go.,... I think it might matter, though. As someone famous once said: "There are three people in this marriage". The third being UWE themselves. If the decision drags on, is inconclusive about whether what we might be awarded will pay for the stadium, or leads to an appeal by either party (very likely if the grocers win), then UWE might lose patience and decide to do something else with their land. We don't know what UWE signed up to in their contract with us (or perhaps a three-way contract with all parties), but whatever the legal boys at UWE agreed, I doubt very much if they would have sanctioned delays lasting for several years. Which is the situation we are getting close to now, possibly, since this was originally all signed-off in 2012 or thereabouts.
