Promotion odds are set with fanbase in mind. Making money off of us. How the feck can anybody make an informed decision at this stage? Yep, totally agree. I was planning on having a bet on us if we were fancy odds after the playoff final win but checked and seen we were only 12/1 which is absolutely ridicilous. We have only just come up from the league below, we won't know how much we have to spend etc until the court case is sorted. For anyone planning on having a bet on us, I would definitely advise against it for now. Wait and see what happens with the court case and what happens with signings etc, we aren't going to get much shorter than 12/1 (if at all) and you will know where you stand then. gashead79 is right in the fact that at the moment it is just based on how big a club you are, the other factor at this stage is teams that have come down from the league below are always a shorter price than they should be. ggmi. Could you stop agreeing with me please. It's boring. I prefer the good old days whereby we could argue about anything.

I only like play-offs when we win them!

What shocks me is up until recently how teams had to be elected into the league. So all it took was a few bungs and you could finish bottom and survive. Three clubs for me too. yes but in those days there was no uniform feeder as there was the Southern League, the Isthmian League and the Northern League. There were only semi professional sides. In the mid 1970's Wimbledon fought their way up to the top of the Southern League premier and won it 3 times running. It is doubtful that they would have been elected but for their FA Cup run when they beat the famous Leeds team and after a lot of publicity they were elected into the League. Hereford, Oxford and Cambridge United all came in via the Southern League . Wigan entered via the Northern League. The formation of the National Conference made it much easier to establish who were the strongest non league clubs regardless of geography and automatic promotion and relegation came in.

Yep it's three up three down for me, to have finished 2nd and not been auto promoted is ridiculous. The rugby system is the worst, finish top and still not win the league, farcical

I do not like the fact that the 7th team can go up unless, of course, it is the Gas BUT. it does make for a much more exciting season and everyone knows the stakes from the start. The play-off format that 79 suggests was similar to the original way that they were played, viz., the runners up in the lower division played off to meet the team above the automatic relegation spot in the division above.

Even though it slightly pains me to say it as both changes would make our life more difficult now we're back in there, I believe that L2 should have only 3 promotion places, but should also have 3 relegation places. Every division should be equal in the amount of teams that go up or down, and that includes the conference for me. The only difference being the bottom of the Conference, where 4 down (2 to each of the regional leagues) is about right.
