Real shame that but now lets nail a pacey leftie to link up with Browner

Real shame that but now lets nail a pacey leftie to link up with Browner DC will have to be careful here.... Perhaps Monkhouses' willingness to "cover" for Brown is what bought the best out in him. Just look at Instagram and you will see the Monkey/Brown love. If we go for someone too pacey and attacking then Browns flying runs down the left may have to be surpressed... Good Monkhouse, thanks for the committment. Over to you DC......

Definite shame, was integral to our success last year imo with his experience and link up play with LB.
Browner had just put on Faceache "I can't believe this guy isn't going to be around next year, absolutely gutted. The left side combo is over"
So that must mean it is 100%, thank you monky for helping us get back to where we should be, all the best for whatever's next.

Bit gutted by this.
Classy player - technically good, solid, threat in the air, scored goals, experienced, and brought the best out of Brown.
Think he'll be a big miss.

We won't be having two pacey wingers in the starting XI, DC is a shrewd manager and likes to have at least one side covered with a player who is willing to drop in and cover his full back. Monkhouse was superb at doing that and that is why Browner made a contribution this/last season as he could overlap almost at will.
Thanks for everything Monky. I thoroughly enjoyed watching you in the quarters and thank you for the part you played in our return to the Football League. Good luck.

All the best Monky... You were superb this season. Sad to hear you won't on the Promotion train next season!

He could end up at Grimsby yet..... My first thought, although I wouldn't be surprised if he went back to Hartlepool.

Really disappointed but I have 100% faith in DC so happy to go along with it. I would like to wish Monky the very, very best for the future. A top guy.

He did a great job for us last season and I'm sure he'll always be made to feel welcome if he ever comes back to play against us. However, I feel this has actually solved a problem for DC. After all, and I mean no offence, but Monkhouse is 34. Maybe it was time to look to replace him anyway?

Thanks for a great season Monkey. Seems that DC was hoping he might be able to convince him to stay (hence the 'couple of offers') but it seems he's made his mind up and that's fair enough. All the best.

Massive loss. I can't see us being as strong down the left without him.
Excellent technique, superb understanding and link up play with Brown, superb in the air, capable of scoring between 10 and 15 goals, great guy to have around the dressing room...
Of all our players that were out of contract he was the one I thought we'd struggle most to replace. Really sorry to see him go.
Thanks for your efforts last season Andy, you will be missed.

And let's not forget one of the best things about him, the bloke was NEVER injured.
Did he once miss a game through injury last season? I can't remember one.
Not only did he have all the qualities talked about in this thread, but he was also always on the pitch to display them.

Really sorry to see Andy not re-sign but I am sure he's done this for the right reasons and i respect him for that, that said it's a big blow. I am also concerned there is no news re Leadbitter, these players apparently offered/not-offered deals seem very quiet about their future plans I guess they will wait to see what they get. The news about these players is frustratingly slow in coming out! www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/football/hartlepool/13335810.Monkhouse_exits_Bristol_Rovers/?
