Squad analysis: GK: Mildy, Puddy - the same as end of last season Defence: Brown, Lockyer, Leadbitter, Clarke, Parkes, McChrystal (also Lyttle and Greenslade) - slight improvement on end of last season with addition of Clarke Central Midfield - Mansell, Clarke, Lines, Sinclair - Sinclair fit gives us more options than at the end of last season. Wide midfield/wings - Montano, Gosling - Dawson, Monkhouse, Balanta replaced by only Montano. Badly needs strengthening. With the squad as it stands it wouldn't be surprising to see Sinclair, Lockyer or Leadbitter deployed out wide, but although they are options, they are not long term answers in these positions. Strikers - Ellis, Taylor, Bliss, Easter, Lucas - Easter gives us more options and experience than at the end of last season. Clearly need at least one wide midfielder/winger. Otherwise not bad, with the returning Sincs and Easter a big plus. Ideally I'd like to see another defensive midfielder added, someone with a bit of pace. Already looks like a cracking squad.

A cracking squad for the Conference I agree. For League 2- who knows? We can only hope.

Reckon we'll be fine. Looking forward to it. Yep,excited muchly. Can't wait for the 'Attendance Predictions ' thread for Northampton ,then we'll know we're nearly there.Still three players short IMO.Not sure if Mildy will be up to it.Loans must be quality not simply to make the numbers up.

IMO League 2 is such a tight league we could finish almost anywhere. Pretty confident about not being in a relegation battle. Could finish in the playoffs.

The air of despondency descends! The momentum from last season on the pitch needs to continue! Fans, management & players mustn't let the disappointment of the Sainsburys defeat affect the new season! Hoping we'll be ok for mid-table! Anything else will be a bonus! TBF the air of despondency never really ascended with a few fans. Even after a promotion(only our 5th? ever) they still moaned, that's just the way some people are built. If we would have won the legal battle they would have found something to moan about, DC signed a new contract yesterday - Yep, they found something to moan about that too. It's engrained in their DNA. We have paid way to much in wages in the past ( everyone agrees with that) this season were doing the oposite it seems, guess what? Yep, they moan about how little were dishing out in wages. Don't let comments on a public forum affect your judgment of other human beings too much. Some of the positive people on here are right miserable sods in real life. Likewise, I will moan and find the negative in everything Bristol Rovers atm but actually... no actually I am miserable aswell. Out of interest, how long have you been following this crock of sh**e?

Unless we bring in a quality winger I can see us finishing mid table at best

I know we have many strikers, but I think that could be our problem! I know DC is good with the loan system and I am sure he will bring in players when he needs to! I think we would finish in top 10 with momentum alone! We could go along way with the supporters behind them.

If Lee Mansell and Ollie Clarke both have in/out seasons we have an alternative we have already regularly used. I think the 5th CM could still be Lockyer. Natural ball winner...off load quickly to Lines then guard the back door whilst Lines drives forward and sprays out the creative ball. As long as TLs own passing game has improved I can see that working..and it frees up right back for Leadbitter too. Better than moving TP into midfield which McGhee would probably have done!

a Sinclair-Lines partnership in midfield would get destroyed IMO. Wow, really. What is your theory based on ?

Both players are box to box but in different styles so our MF will be void. We must have that guy in there dominating the area which allows Lines or Sinclair to go about their business.
