Perhaps. But Ward played centre mid players out wide and we were hopeless going forward. Agree re centre mids playing out wide, but there is a difference between a wide midfielder and a winger. I don't for example regard Monkhouse as a winger but IMO he did a good job as a wide midfielder. Pirateman I agree with you and he brought Browner into the game to supply crosses whilst making us stronger in midfield. I don't like playing two wingers, it puts too much pressure on central midfield and if you have a more attack-minded one (say Chris Lines) then the other one is going to struggle. As for up front if you have strikers with skill and pace they can easily (and I think we do now), drag defenders around and or create crosses themselves.
