Have people still not worked out how DC manages yet?
If he was to tell the press about DL's injury, all it actually does is aid Orient's preparation. If they know he is definitely out they can set up knowing that we will be without our fastest player, but if they don't know one way or the other then they can't prepare with any degree of certainty, which is good.
I know everyone is keen to find out the extent of the injury, but we have to trust what DC wants to do. He is the same when it comes to transfers too.

I can say with no shadow of a doubt that Leadbitter won't be fit for Saturday....unless I'm a plant from the club to throw Leyton Orient off the scent, in which case he will.

Bit odd this one.... Do we assume no news is good news? Or no news is standard Bristol Rovers and in actual fact he is probably out for the season? Why is it odd? What is the benefit of DC giving out information on injured players just to keep the fans happy, potentially helping Orient's and other teams' prep for upcoming games? Yep, none. Standard Bristol Rovers? More like standard Darrell Clarke management.

The above makes absolutely no sense what so ever.
We will be playing the same formation no matter if Leads is fit or not and even if we don't, that is as good as my guess as it is the Leyton Orient managers!

Orient will look at how to target specific individuals and their weaknesses, not just formations! Helps them if DC let's them know who is and who isn't available

The three of us did not publish this on any social media because we did not want to alert Portsmouth of this as we assumed away teams look at social media/forums for tips. A bit like Sainsbury who regularly looked at our forums, as confirmed by them in Court.

Talking of dropping JJ, he hasn't played a minute of league football since playing us.

Surely there's a line between not giving team selection info away and updating the fans with regards to an insured player?

They are one and the same thing.
It's best not to reveal everything you know.

I was referring to DC not a forum user given inside info, although you do wonder why DC was giving vital team selection info away at the training ground anyway, but that's another story.

I'm sorry but if a pro clubs trawls forums for info then I am a fkin 6 legged unicorn pretending to be a manatee!! Most "gossip" on forums is rollox as we all know so how would they know what to believe?? Could end up believing something and doing yourself no favours. Comparing that with Sainburies looking is nonsense! They were gauging opinion etc not trying to find out if Watola was fit for court or about to be replaced by Ware at the last minute. Utter tosh!

I find it strange that so many of our fans demand to know exactly what's going on in our club on a day to day basis and assume that when their not told something about an injury or possible transfer it's because nothing's happening. Makes me laugh it does.

You guys sure it was his hamstring? I thought he was just looking for his wallet and went off when he realised it wasn't in his back pocket.

Makes me laugh it does. Agree, but it is probably the social media age we live in. Everyone must have to know what is happening ...NOW!! Too much time I'm afraid. This attitude has been pandered to by precious footballers who have to Twitter everything they do...and then wonder why they are such nobs! The Premier League has also played a part by publicising every little thing. What used to be mainly Saturdays and a day mid week is now 24/7 7days a week. Everyone must be told everything!! That's why close season is so manic. If clubs or managers don't take part they are seen as hiding something. UTG!

I know of at least one transfer target that we wanted in the past and as a result of a local newspaper (not the EP) picking up on a story/rumour we lost out to a bigger club.
If you do not believe this goes on, then fine.

I'm weirdly comfortable with this though....under DC anyway...I want us to identify players we want and then sign them. If it becomes public and their heads are turned by bigger offers, then they probably won't fit into the current set-up. If the EP thinks it has any sway, it should employ some actual journalists and write some real stories...
