The cost of steel is substantially less than when the stadium costings were originally estimated so an early start now would help

Was giving this some more thought but if we have a consortium ready to invest £30m I doubt they'll be worrying about the price of steel, in the event we don't then I doubt we'll ever afford to build it anyway?

Wealthy people didn't get wealthy by throwing good money away. People with cash are often very careful with the pennies. They certainly would be monitoring build costs.

No doubt they will but the price of steel isn't, sadly, going to make the stadium affordable for us without a big cash injection from somewhere.
Having said that I see West Ham have sold Upton Park for £70m just for housing, even allowing for London prices surely that makes the Mem worth more than £15m?

'Cause they are going ahead with the car-park, having sold the other large student car-park for housing.

As some one who is desperate for this project to go ahead when you see a thread title saying "good news", it gets your hopes up and then you realise that it is absolutely nothing of interest. It's a bit of a let down tbh.
