Wow, that is a blast from the past. Ridiculous though it might seem I can even remember Harold Jarman not being universally popular all the time. Wayne Jones as well. Both legends. UTG!!

Just thought about David Clarkson. I thought he was quality, and always brought something to a game. Many thought he was a waste of space. I'm one of them. Rarely played in his best position or with support IMO

Lewis haldane is one that springs to mind. I was never a massive fan of his, had all the physical attributes but never really cut the mustard in my opinion
Edit: see he's already been mentioned

Neil Slatter. Full back in Eastville days. I thought he was pretty good but the group of blokes I usually ended up standing by couldn't stand him. All game they would be shouting "tackle, you lazy b******, tackle".

Lee Nicholls. most people seem to rate him, I dont. But there again I love Marmite.! From past players there is a guy I stand with who still argues the case for Gary Kenneth. Football is like most things in life, its all about opinions. I must admit that I though Kenneth looked fantastic in his first few games but then played on with an injury when we got humilated at Wimbledon away and never looked the same again.

All game they would be shouting "tackle, you lazy b******, tackle". He loved to pass the ball back to his keeper. I wonder how he would have got on in the current game

Rarely played in his best position or with support IMO Rarely did enough to warrant a start in his preferred position. I liked Meaker.

Adam Barratt and Kevin Austin two of the worst defenders I have ever seen. Strangely I thought Ijah Anderson was great when he first arrived and probably as instrumental in saving us that season as Andy Rammell God knows what got into him the next season though.

Andy Williams - bags of potential but he could miss some gilt-edged chances. Still, he's doing alright in L1.
Liked him despite this. Can we sign him again ??

For me it's got to be either Andy Gurney, could never stand him as a youngster or Lee Maddison
