Sorting through my loft today i found a match programme from my first ever Rovers league game. Having got hooked after Wembley it was the 1992 season game at Twerton vs West Ham in the second tier. I was 10 and i remember being devastated because it was sold out but then my Dad rang the club secretary who he used to work with (anyone remember his name?) and for a small bribe he got us in.
I think we lost 4-0 but it hooked me for ever. Anyone else remember this game ? I think they had Ludek Miklosko in goal.
I know we have this type of thread a lot but would be interested in hearing your tales again.

I don't remember if it was a league game but we lost 1-2(I think we scored) to Birmingham citi. They had Kevin Francis and Jose Dominguez up front, really tall and really small!! It would have been 88/89.

Can't remember my very first game but I can recall playing Arsenal in the FA Cup 3rd round at Eastville when we lost 3-0 with one of the scores being Ian Ure in front of 35,000. I believe that was the late 60's and not long after we played the pre 1982 ltd and drew the first game in front of 34,000 and the replay was in front of 35,000.

1975, 6, 7? V west ham in tote end, eastville evening game with me uncle dont remember score now but the one thing that I remember was the four lads in front of me when stewards stopped them and ask where they were from? The reply was classic I seen one of them looking at the flyover m32 when he trumped up and said fishponds in his cockney accent obviously seen the motorway sign which led to them being ejected out of the tote followed by an escort party of gasheads.

That's a remarkable coincidence! Exactly the same game as me, 60 years ago, what are the chances?? We should check our lottery tickets I was 7,the only thing I remember was a Geoff Bradford shot which knocked one of theirs unconscious. Still a season ticket holder in the Blackthorn today.

Can't remember my first game, but the earliest I remember is Cheltenham circa 2001/2002. Lost 2-1 I think.
First game on my own(without my dad) was a 1-1 draw with Swindon I believe, around 2007/2008. Lines equalised last minute and got sent off.

1966. After moving up from Paignton I had to join a cub pack in Fishponds. Soon after we had a trip to Eastville and went around the ground, changing rooms etc. We then saw Rovers beat Torquay 1 - 0. I was hooked then and have watched them ever since.

1974 or 5. Sunderland at home. Stood on Muller Rd end. Gas one 1-0, Bruce Bannister I think direct from a corner? We went 7th that evening in the old Div 2.
