Worst red card I've seen for a while. Apart from that one Akinfenwa header.
Surely it wasn't that drab was it?

Blimey. Can they appeal it in time for Monday?

Definitely a red, how can you argue it wasn't? He lunges in, never gets the ball and was the last man

You can't say for certain the other defender wouldn't have got across to tackle Harrison? Given it was inside the first 5 mins it seems a bit harsh but typical of the standard of Div 2 refs this season.

So the highlights were the minute applause and the argument about the red card.
Just about sums it up!!!

Given it was inside the first 5 mins it seems a bit harsh but typical of the standard of Div 2 refs this season. If you can't see that the other defender couldn't have stopped Ellis getting in a shot, then god help us. It looked a definite red at the game and the 'highlight' does nothing to change that. Dont tell Tbone, but Taylor missed yet another simple one on one early in the game. Not only that, but as he wasn't at the races at all today, why didn't he pass to Ellis (I believe it was) who was completely unmarked, and only had to side foot it home. Taylor was poor all game, but Gosling and Harrison were worse together with a dodgy keeper in Mildy who was locked on his line all game even when defenders were begging him to come out for the ball, and had to resort to kicking the ball into the crowd as a result. And why was Parkes dropped? He played well at Dagenham and yet McChrystal was chosen and was hopeless as well. A very poor performance overall, and we made it easy for Wimbledon to get the point they very much deserved even though they were awful overall. Can't help but think that DC meddles with team selection too much. But when you look at the results it's hard to argue with him. But today was definitely a game where the team that finished at Dagenham should have been the one that started against Wimbledon.

"At half-time I just wanted to make the point to the referee that we'd seen the footage back and clearly, clearly Paul Robinson pokes it back to his goalkeeper and the player goes over his foot.
I've watched it several times and must say that I agree with their manager.

Never a red in a million years. He played the ball Harrison fell over and I wouldn't have even given a foul. Annoying thing is I think we'd have won v 11 but we do find it hard when sides put everyone behind the ball. If they appeal they'll win the appeal or I'll eat my hat.

Wonder what the defender was doing with his arm?

Wonder what the defender was doing with his arm? If everyone who moved their arm about a bit when they ran got sent off, there wouldn't be anyone to play the game.

to be fair to the ref, on first watch a defo red....
on a second watch, yep, he defo gets the ball, actually a very timely challenge....
that'll get overturned no probs, actually a very good example of why the appeal system exists....

Or alternatively a good example of the poor standard of Div 2 refs this season?
DC said in his post match interview he would have been happy with a point before the game so perhaps that's how he set the team up, then couldn't take advantage of playing against 10 men for virtually the whole match? Unless we're playing a top 3 team I can't see why we don't set out to won every game but as Gasincider says you can't knock his achievements.

Pretty sure DC flagged after the last game that a lot of the less utilised players were going to get their chance in the next few weeks so no real surprise that he fiddled with the team selection. Why he does that of course is another question. But until we're in the bottom half of the table I'm not questioning his tactics!
