Oli Clarke has been getting more minutes than Lines recently. Surely you would think players not getting game time drop off the bench first? As it stands, they'd both be on the bench as Gaffney would make way? I suppose so. I was just thinking would DC go with 3 midfield players on the bench? Seems unlikely.

That would be my obvious choice but you never know, might drop Lines off the bench and leave Ollie in the 11, might start Lawrence and drop Ollie to the bench.... Might do something else! Lol dropping Ollie is what I would do tho Ollie was excellent last week with Mansell and Sinclair. He would be the obvious choice to drop but it would be harsh on the lad. Harsh maybe, but there is little room for sentiment. He had a reasonable game last week but offers little going forward. He is a handy squad player though imo,but we are crying out for more creativeness and that's a fact.

I think if he goes 4-4-2 then maybe you're right and one would drop out. 3-5-2 though I guess we would see Lines and Clarke on the bench so only 2? Anyway, nice problem to have!

OC plays deep behind the midfield two, you can't expect him to be too creative in that role, which is more defensive midfield. Assuming LL is an attacking midfielder then surely he plays out wide or in CM if DC decides to rest Mansell, unless he plans pushing Mansell into OC's defensive midfield role and then playing LL alongside Sinclair? Whatever it doesn't look promising for Lines long term future, it's hard to believe after his Wembley performance he's now seemingly surplus to requirements, for the second time in his Rovers career.

I wonder if LL can tackle any better??

I think as much as anything this is signing to add a bit of depth. If Clarkes team selection has shown us anything no-one is surplus to requirements.
Lines Clarke Mansell Lawerence Sinclair
Have a lot of games to get through between now and the end of the season.
There will be many different combos to be used yet for a variety of differing 'projects.'
Incidentally, Clarke has mentioned another formation they have planned...
Wouldn't be surprised if we saw a diamond at some point soon.

Where do you reckon Lines would go? Who in our league would pick up his wage bill?

If we say we really want him, maybe Cambridge will try to get him.
