Actually my little boy scroat was born the same day that Sainsbury's got planning permission for the Mem (I had one eye on the planning meeting and one eye on a caesarian section) so TBH he's a bit of a jonah and won't be missed if this amazing tip doesn't come off.

In reply to the OP yes i think one way or another UWE will still happen for one reason.....it has to! Let's just get all this court stuff over and done with once and for all then the real fun can begin, eh JTS?! oh god, is JTS doing one of his famous Twister parties? or even worse the one he calls the khaki bowl party (thunk about it...)

You couldn't make it up last week JTS was getting excited because he thought a deal was done with the consortium, then he announced he understood a deal had been done but it wasn't with the consortium, now we're being told no meaningful discussions have even taken place with the consortium. Why don't the three of them just own up it was all a wind up to boost forum users on Gaschat? Because it wasn't a wind up, ..................simples If it's not a wind up then what happened to last week's agreed deal to be announced in "a week or two" plus if no "meaningful" talks have taken place with the consortium how could JTS mistakenly think a deal had been agreed with them last week.

I thought we've been in discussions for over a month now?(gasincider has been saying for over a month we will hear something any day now!) What do you mean start now? You couldn't make it up last week JTS was getting excited because he thought a deal was done with the consortium, then he announced he understood a deal had been done but it wasn't with the consortium, now we're being told no meaningful discussions have even taken place with the consortium. Why don't the three of them just own up it was all a wind up to boost forum users on Gaschat? I do not see there is a great deal of difference between the views of JTS, Gasincider and myself to be honest.
We all say that there is a Consortium, sorry Nick to use that word again and that they apparently have the funds to build UWE to the original specification and invest in BRFC with the ultimate goal of playing in the Championship within the next five(?) years. If NH has found different investors, I have no idea.
How you interpret any information gleaned is where there may be a difference. Perhaps we all need to wait for the consortium to go public before commenting further, but I doubt that is possible.
My opinion is that UWE will be built. The start date I have no idea, but hope that this will start before the beginning of season 2016/17.
Have to sign off as there are some things more important than BRFC, honest.

JTS suggested last week a deal had been agreed, Gasincider now says no meaningful discussions have taken place with the consortium, with it having prevoulsy been suggested NH had met with them and talks were underway.
The consortium story seems to have been just a smoke screen for the real event, whatever that may have been.

I cannot recall that Gasincider has ever said that there have been "no meaningful discussions have taken place with the consortium". Are you confusing him with my comment, we are NOT the same person.
As I said earlier it is all about how you interpret information. Clearly JTS must have misinterpreted something he heard and posted info which to his credit he quickly retracted.
I do like quoting dates of when things may happen as I have learnt from long experience in business that if an event does not take place, there's always someone who will indicate you are not telling the truth.
I believe that talks are continuing with the Consortium, but clearly the Appeal means, in my opinion, nothing will happen until the verdict is announced. The Consortium must be as eager as any Gashead or BRFC Director to know where we stand. The outcome will surely have a huge bearing on what anyone will offer for BRFC, you could be on about a difference of between £10m and £30m.
Then again, NH may have made contact with the "magic tooth fairy" who can bale out BRFC with an investment of £40m+
Topper, I would politely suggest that you spend less time on commenting on every thread and find a worthwhile hobby to engage more of your time.

GasheadGaz - Yes the talks have gone on for a very long time but the appeal has not helped the situation. Would you want to invest £30/£40/£50m in any company if there was an outstanding legal action being taken with no clear indication how it will work out. Some take overs, even of football clubs take months to complete and yes one of the winners in this "game" are the lawyers.
You will have seen the clubs statement about the Appeal next week that it is most unlikely that an immediate decision will be granted and the three Judges can take all the time in the world that they feel is appropriate to give their verdict. I think Mrs Justice Proudman took six weeks to give her verdict. So we will have to wait as will the Directors of BRFC and any interested investor.
One final point. I have no problem with your views or those of NobbyGas etc. It is your personal view/opinion and I respect that. The fact that I do not agree with them should not be a reason to fall out over each others views.
Lets hope that tomorrow all Gasheads are united in their support for the players/team and we can cheer them on to another three points.

Will NH be at the game today or is there any truth in the rumour he is off to Worcester to look for a lost ticket?
