Not trying to put a downer on what could be a massive day for you as a club, but we've (Pompey) have been stung by three separate foreign investors.. We had a Russian Billionaire Property Tycoon, Dubai Property Tycoon and a big Russian funded Sports Company. We've nearly been out of business twice because of this. Please ask questions, question every decision, how every bit of money is being spent, how they are investing. Is it a loan, what happens if they pull their finance.. If Bournemouth get relegated and their owner leaves how are they going to pay Efobi's wages on 11k tickets a week? It may sound amazing and they will no doubt start saying premier league in 5 years etc.... Gets as much transparency as possible. where is the money coming from?
Fingers crossed for you lot that these guys are legit and in it for the football. They aren't going to ever make a profit, no-one ever makes a profit in football being an owner..
Concerned Pompey Fan.....

Just had a quick look on otib, bitter much? Not a happy bunch. I can't see any bitter or unhappy posts on OTIB..... We're just very happy to have a ridiculously rich, Bristolian owner Strange that. He gets slagged off every week on your forum. Hopefully we can use our money a lot better than yours has, eh?

Another box ticked for me. If he delivers on the other three things that have been said (stadium, academy, commercial side) he has started very very well.

Geoff Dunford just tweeted: So pleased the takeover of The Gas is now complete. New stadium and promotion now a reality. #GoodnightIrene #UTG or does he really mean i might actually get my money back now He's a Gashead like the rest of us and is probably as excited as we all are about the prospect of seeing Rovers rise up the leagues. You don't know what deal the board struck with our new owners - for all you know it could be that they waived their debts.

This guy looked too go to be true, he was......
Al Fahim fact fileWith Sulaiman Al Fahim taking over Pompey, the Fratton faithful are getting a huge personality in the boardroom. And one of world's most expensive cars could be parked outside the ageing ground when he jets in on matchdays. While outgoing Pompey owner Alexandre Gaydamak has continually shunned the limelight, billionaire Al Fahim loves the attention. In the Arab world he is part of Dubai's super-rich elite and star of his own reality television show The Hydra Executives - our version of The Apprentice. To boot he is author of the best-selling book Brand Builder, and has in the last year scooped an International Achievement award at the Middle East Awards in Dubai. Dubai reporter Anil Bhoyrul, who writes for the website ArabianBusiness.com, said Al Fahim was a great character who was a regular feature in Arabic media. He said: 'He is very charismatic, he's a big people person who is very entertaining. 'His catchphrase is "Impress Me" and he follows that through with his actions. 'He is very exciting to be around.' The 32-year-old United Arab Emirates businessman also has a deep love for football and has already been a Premier League frontman. Al Fahim represented the United Arab Emirates Royal family when they bought Manchester City from former Thailand prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra for 210m last summer. It was the first major takeover of a Premier League club by an Arabic group, after an aborted attempt by Dubai International Capital to buy Liverpool FC in 2006. Since last summer though Al Fahim and Manchester City have distanced themselves from each other. In January Dr Al Fahim was interviewed by former newspaper editor and Britain's Got Talent judge Piers Morgan. During the meeting he took Morgan for a ride in his private jet, explaining his take on the importance of money and living a lavish lifestyle. The highlight of the trip was a ride in his car - the world's only Versace Lamborghini Murcielago. The supercar cost him 400,000 more than a standard model just to add the Versace interior trimmings, and another 1.6m went on a number plate. Away from the flash living and high-rise homes Al Fahim is a keen sportsman. He is a regular chess player who represented his country at youth level and is president of the UAE Chess Association. Through his company Hydra Properties, Al Fahim has investment in Dubai sports television, a Costa Rican soccer team and the German Bundesliga football league. Al Fahim is currently building a new football academy in Abu Dhabi with Italian football giants Internazionale. And he is currently the president of the Arab Union for Real Estate Development, part of the Arab League. The tycoon also has a strong United Nations presence as a goodwill ambassador. He has recently been working with Remigio Maradona - cousin of soccer legend Diego Maradona - in the UN battle against malnutrition and represents an intergovernmental institution that promotes the use of the food additive Spirulina< corr>. This can be used to combat malnutrition and help people in poorer countries. Business leaders said Al Fahim would be a massive boost to the city as a whole. Maureen Frost, chief executive of Portsmouth and South East Hampshire's Chamber of Commerce, said: 'He is undoubtedly one of the world's biggest businessmen and it will be of great benefit to Portsmouth that he has come here. 'Portsmouth's cup success came from the investment the current owner put in and hopefully he can secure the club's future. 'That will have a positive effect on business here, showing large companies that billionaires are prepared to invest.'

It might be fine, it could be the best thing to happen, but you still need to know whats going on...If it wasn't for some amazing Portsmouth fans who got together to fight for us we would have been bust. We dropped from the premier league to league 2... Rollercoasters are fun, ours was amazing, FA cup, Eufa Cup, Milan at home. Look where we are now? Please, please don't get ignorant because of tycoons with money. These guys don't care about your club - ITS YOUR CLUB!!! The football league won't bail you out if it goes tits up...
Also Steven Hamer was part of a consortium that tried to buy Pompey with a guy called Keith Harris who could never prove he has any money, luckily the Pompey Trust sniffed his out and the administrator sold it to the fans instead. Harris was the bloke who tried to buy Man United as part of the "red knights"

Like yourselves we have an incredible fan base that deserves more. I think both Rovers and Pompey can be looking to the future as a bright one.

Thank you for the concerns but I think we'll ride the rollercoaster and see what happens. Yeah. I don't really want to be told by some guy who's already been round once, not to get on, even if it might make me sick.

Concerned Pompey Fan..... A good and fair post. However, our owner is not saying Prem in 5 years etc. I think that's what worries me less. They are talking about making the club self-sustainable and investing in youth which can only be a good thing if true. That said, we will of course take your advice and I think all of us are at least a tad wary. The key thing for me is he doesn't seem to have an ego. He is genuinely interested in football and wants to build a sustainable club.

Also, we've been sh** for so long now that we've little to lose and nothing to fear. Would you rather see Bristol Rovers in the conference, or sitting at home doing nothing on a Saturday? The whole football world seem to have forgotten that we were a judge's decision away from not existing as Portsmouth FC again.. Look how blase' the Football League were about the Cardiff chairman changing the colours of their kit, Hull chairman trying to change their name, Massimo Cellino constantly being in court for fraud yet being able to keep running Leeds into the ground. I hope and pray that no other Football League fans have to go through anything like what happened to us and these guys are genuine investors who care about you, the fans and your club..

Concerned Pompey Fan..... Could not agree more. As I said earlier, I am more than a little uneasy about this but sincerely hope it turns out to be the best thing that happens to the club. Thanks to Higgs and co as I feel they only ever did their very best regardless how some may have perceived it. UTG
