How is it the cricket ground can erect 6 ugly 200 foot tall floodlights with no objection from locals despite them being a total eyesore, yet these same people went out of there way to stop rovers moving forward with the mem development etc.. Just don't get it??? Thank God that we are now heading in the right direction with the new owners on board.

Unless these floodlights are selling food and drink, it's not really a valid comparison.

Wasn't Radish spouting nonsense about this as well when the idea was first suggested, and trying to get it blocked?

Plenty of objections but the last one is being completed right now. Looking forward to seeing them in use.

They look pretty ugly and I have a lovely view of them from my street but purely because it sticks two fingers up at all the nimbys it gives me a little smile every time I see them.

They are going to be tested on the 20th May. The cricket club did get a lot of hassle over the lights but common sense and progress won in the end. Gloucestershire Cricket Club defends 'giant spatula' lights - www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-35802073
