Can't help but feel that we can do it now because 5 games ago we were well and truly off the pace.A couple of quick defeats for any of the challengers will be fatal to their hopes now though,so just praying it won't be us! UTG

Nice read. Little typo you might want to correct - "we're" instead of "were" in the section on injuries.
Great stuff keep it up!

I hope that Rovers get automatic promotion, but the last 5 wins have been against bottom half of table teams and the last 9 games include Cambridge,Carlisle and Northampton...then 'derby' games against Exeter and Yeovil..even the last 2 games against lowly York and Dagenham could see them already relegated with the pressure off of them..so a run in that could be more tricky than it looks. 18 points out of a possible 27 should ( I think) see Rovers promoted, but it might be very close, lets hope that York away isn't a rerun of Dover last season,if they win they are promoted,I hope that its sorted by then.

Wimbledon are top half and Mansfield were when we played them...

A big unknown is how the players now cope with the pressure of being a top 3 side rather than one of the chasing pack, tomorrow's game in front of packed Mem will be a big test, hopefully the experience in the squad, and last season successful promotion will see us home.

We had such a weight of expectation last season I can't see us buckling because of pressure

Promotion now would be too soon for us. Our ground couldn't cope. Our fan base still has an amateur mentality. Promotion once we have our stadium and a professional setup would be better. Can you have standing areas in LG 1?

Luckily we have only one team from top 8 to play - Northampton. So I'm quietly confident. Even Carlisle could be a 3 pointer for us - their form has dipped in recent weeks. I'm hopeful of a minimum of 5 wins

It's very strange to have a Rovers side that are far exceeding the expectations most placed on them at the start of the season, whether we finish 2nd or 8th I wouldn't be disappointed. Maybe if we missed out on the playoffs altogether, but not for long purely because I didn't expect us to finish so high and I have faith we would destroy the league next season when DC finally gets his hand on a decent budget.
If we did go up this season, I really wouldn't rule out another go at it next season.

Ok both Accrington and Pompey did the double over us, but I certainly wouldnt call it a poor record.
