Still got 6 games left THIS season, and 4 months to go till NEXT season, nearly 1500 already is good going IMO! The majority of season ticket sales happen in the original discount period though. I'd be disappointed if we didn't hit 5000 with the distinct possibly of league one football. Have we ever sold even close to that?

Wouldn't say 1400 season tickets sales was particularly impressive at this stage with the success on the field this season. Thought they were flying out the door?! I was told it is the number of people who have purchased season tickets for the first time which is impressive as the majority of current holders leave it to closer to discounted cut off date to renew.

I don't know what it is about Hamer, I'm a good judge of character and something doesn't quite sit right about him for me. He reminds me of a politician. Says all the buzz words and diverts attention to where he wants it to go. I know they all do it to some degree. I just feel like he comes across a bit slippery. Something tells me he'll become a hate figure in a couple of seasons. I know this seems an odd thing to say as we're going through what seems to be a positive transition. I have my tin hat ready, so bring it on.

He's certainly a good talker and I like listening to him - an engaging character. However some of his comments about the new stadium came across like we only came up with the idea a couple days ago. Hopefully he's just being coy and there's been more progress with financing etc than the impression I was left with.

It is quite feasible that in a couple of seasons time, the club is still languishing in L2 and the stadium has not been delivered. The honeymoon period will be over and fans patience will probably be wearing a little thin. On the other hand, we could be established in L1 and challenging for another promotion with the UWE build well under way. I think SH has simply been installed as a spokesman for the new owners and I agree with you that professional spokespeople often come across as a bit slippery. The level of funding the owners provide, the way it is spent and their ability to deliver a new stadium will determine whether SH becomes a hate figure or a hero. In the meantime, the club is in a far more secure position than it was a few weeks ago, there is a real opportunity to win a second successive promotion and some serious people have been brought in to oversee the stadium project. I think the early comparisons with Chelsea and Man City may have been a bit premature but, as far as I can see, there's not too much to be negative about at the moment.

My post work strictly based on how Hamer comes across to me. But like you said he's a professional mouth piece so that's probably why I feel like I do. I also find that we as fans get so much smoke blown up our ass, it's unreal. But I suppose they have too, or they would suffer either way.

I have to assume that it's the tea lady ...is there really one...are we grace brothers in disguise.....who is in charge of air traffic control ,as there seem to be a growing number of planes circling Filton airport with landing gear down !
Other than that , interesting interview.

Other than that , interesting interview. I've gotten a bit confused with the airplanes and landing lights - the other day it was in relation to the stadium and now it's the team heading for the landing lights with undercarriage ablaze, or whatever. But I have a short attention span - it could be the new pasty contract that has its landing gear being deployed, no doubt collapsing when it hits the runway and showering onlookers with beef mince and small cubes of carrot.

I wonder how everyone would be feeling about the new owners if instead of winning 7 out of the last 8, we'd lost 7 and won 1, and were stuck in mid-table? Not quite so positive, I'm sure. That's not a criticism of the new owners - these things take time. But the feel-good factor around the club seems to me to be 90% down to DC and the players and 10% to what Wael & Co have done so far.

I thought the same myself, just wish he'd confirm the finance was in place for the UWE instead of waffling on about comparisons with Bournemouth when their owner as invested millions in players to get them into the Premiership.

Though the new board seem to be using the feel-good factor to good effect

Absolutely, the proof of the pudding will be in the summer when we either push the boat out to keep our best players and strengthen the squad or we go down the same old familiar road we've always known just with new people doing it. Will there be anything more than a car park at uwe this time next year..........?

It does show how easy it is to be a Chairman when you are using other peoples money, trying to compare NH and SH is not easy as they are coming from totaly different positions. It all looks good but so it should, we now have money, we think.
