I guess he can't "earn" a contract unless he gets more game time, although how much stick does Lines get for seemingly putting in more effort when his contact is coming to an end? And to get more game time, you impress in training. Even on match days he looks to be joking about sometimes rather than seriously warming up. how dare anyone have any sort of morale and look to be enjoying themselves on a match day .

In fairness to Elis those closest to him have never questioned his temperament.
I've heard several pros speak of 'fantastic character' and 'great in the changing room' when referring to Ellis. Darrell, himself, has said that the boy has a great attitude. He's been sent off once in his career, stupidly, but then led the line heroically at Wembley.
I think a lot of people mis judge Elis as fantastic talent but his 'ead isn't focused.
But in my opinion I think he's simply inconsistent. At this point you go with the players that you trust.
He'll get there, just needs a bit more time.
Fantastic option from the bench. But we should keep the shape that's been winning us matches recently.

When it's unprofessionally enjoying themselves, Yes I agree. we better ban the players from smiling and laughing then just incase some of the fans get the wrong idea. i see many players laughing and joking during the warm ups and personally i see it as a form of discrimination to single any one of them out.

Interesting DC said post match he had a chat with him this week? Perhaps he showed him this thread during his chat!
Thought Ellis was also brilliant when he came on, I wonder what the hell he was doing dropping deep for a Yeovil free kick near the end but fair play he won the header and helped clear the danger.

Yesterday proved why you start Gaffney! Not like you to drag an old thread up. I agree he played well yesterday and an in form Gaffney would be my first choice every time but I still maintain that he was struggling in recent weeks.

Yesterday proved why you start Gaffney! Did yesterday prove why you start Gaffney though? Once again Easter and Harrison came on and looked far more of a threat.

It was more the point that you can drag up any old thread if you want just to try and make others look silly.

Did yesterday prove why you start Gaffney though? Once again Easter and Harrison came on and looked far more of a threat. But we still created zero goal scoring chances? True. Although we at least had a decent spell of pressure towards the end. That was more to do with the change of shape than players but Easter did make a few decent driving runs at their defence where as we had none of that in the first half.
