Friend of mine who has followed York City for years was telling me how in previous years York have expanded the away seating stand (Popular side I believe it's called) for teams who have already sold out and ticket sales in the home end have not looked promising.
Won't read much into but maybe why we haven't announced a beam back yet, additional tickets could be on the way? Saves potential scuffles in the home areas.

You could be right, would explain why we went from having 3 tickets available Saturday morning to a number of them available now.

To be honest most who want to travel have had plenty of chance to buy, can't see many more being sold, too far away for many I think.

For anyone thinking of going in the home end you will need to practice the accent and act like a northerner.
It's easy really

Just rang the shop to see if I could get a ticket for the York game - they sold the last one this morning - but was advised to keep ringing back in case of returns. Could well find myself in the home end..... At least I'll be able to take some sneaky pics of the Gas support!

If going in home end, how to blend in. Extensive knowledge on Trains, Minsters & Bettys tea rooms.

From what I heard on Saturday, we needed to sell a few more away tickets to trigger a beamback. Could still happen folks?

Someone mentioned they were sold out again this morning but still no sign of a beam back. Given we have apparently only had a handful to sell all week, I would have thought it would be more profitable for the club to buy them and start selling the beamback tickets, for that reason I can't see it happening now ....

Be more profitable for the fans to buy them and then go to the beamback based on fuel costs and time....

As I said earlier, I was told that the last ticket was sold this morning. Surely if they want to do a beamback now, they can? Maybe there is another issue as to why?

Dunno - to be honest I'd imagine the club would give an an official statement saying it was sold out at some point. Maybe a few returns? I'm very doubtful of a beamback now, which is a shame as it would have been a nice little earner I'm sure.

Despite selling all the tickets, we still need clearance from the local police. This is required on the basis that the police fear we might invade home areas if there is no beam back to keep them away.
As told to me by Kay in the shop this morning

The later any beamback announcement is left, the more likely people are to go to York on the off chance they'll get in the home end. You'd imagine any 'local police clearance' would be a formality... the delay is bizarre.

Or is it police clearance for an invasion of Gloucester Road on Saturday if too late to do as all ticket event? Mail out of beam back tickets pretty impossible now I'd have thought

Assumed because of Newport and Northampton it was a sell-out-only kind of thing, but you're right.

The rules surrounding Beam Back are quite complex.

You're right about that! Everything seems to contradict everything else. (e.g. Camb and Newp different times, but Northampton was 3pm with other games on, as was Hartlepool in '07) If it isn't announced early tomorrow I can only assume nothing is happening...

I would of thought that if the club wanted to do a beam back it would not be in their interest to ask for more away tickets as they would make more money out of a beam back wouldn't they ?
