You won't beat the party we had yesterday for 11,000 guests followed by party on Glos Road. No need for anymore, but get that those that weren't there may want a bit of a party too

I hope we have one and I'm sure we will. To say we came third for ffs is rediculous, we won automatic promotion. We had open top bus when we came 7th in 2007. Automatic promotion is more of an achievement than winning play offs.

Saturday was the best day of my lie so far I think...
Promotion with my mates, on the pitch celebrating with everyone and everyone and then later on in the evening we had our club presentation in the Bristol hotel, who was is in the room next door? Yep, the entire squad celebrating!
Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, we then go on to Pam Pams to find the squad were once again in the very next room to us in the VIP!!!!!
I know it probably sounds like I am making this up, but I honestly am not!
Partied with the players until stupid o clock and even had a quiet chat with DC for a good half an hour! What a bloke he is mind! Down to earth, modest and seems to genuinely have fallen in love with this club and indeed us as fans.
It is a great time to be a Gas head for so many reasons!
WHAT A DAY!

No need for anymore, but get that those that weren't there may want a bit of a party too My two year old daughter loves Rovers but she's only been to one game when we had a box she's a bit small and timid for the terraces so an open top bus celebration would be great for her and I'm sure there are plenty of others who have kids they would bring who didn't go to the game

Don't see why not, and also a family fun day at the ground. Have the new replica kits and new, quality merchandise on sale. Together with food and beverage sales from the various bars the club could net a tidy profit before the season starts. It's events like promotion the club, in its new professional guise has to maximise if it is to compete with the likes of Bolton, Charlton, Sheffield. Utd et al. My God, it sounds good having those clubs as league competitors!
My only plea to the club is to hold it the weekend before 22nd July because thats when we go on our hols!

Just announced that no open top bus parade this year. Disappointing for some I am sure, but a sound decision IMO.

Just announced that no open top bus parade this year. Thats the right decision in my eyes - let the players leave on a high. Bus parade would be sparse compared to the scenes on Saturday

I'm gutted about that to be honest. The first time our club have achieved back to back promotions and no open top bus celebration !!

I think it's the right decision. Nothing will beat Saturday, and the celebrations when the Accy score came in, and even more so the scenes on Glos Rd and the surrounding pubs long into the night.
Disappointing for some I'm sure, but you're never going to please everyone.

I was looking forward to seeing a bus tour but the players and management have more than earned some time of so fair play to them.

UTG agree. i wouldn't mind one as I had to go and pick the kids up at 5.30 and didn't have a Gloucester Road roadblock party... but it's cool either way I think. Just happy to be back where I started (third tier)

Disgraceful decision. What a missed marketing opportunity yet again. What is it about this club?
It seems Hamer is again behind this. 'We didn't win anything so why have one' Yes we did. We got back to back promotions for Christ sake. Now his reasoning on the club site has changed to saying the players will be here there and everywhere. Bullsh*t. If we hadn't gone up Saturday, presumably we would have declined to take part in the playoffs because our players were on holiday. We could have utilised the club bars, kitchens, and selling season tickets etc not to mention merchandise on the bank holiday of our playoff final.
Trouble is it needs to be Wael you talk too in order to get rapport with the fans. The kids would have loved it just like last year when thousands came out to see it
Presumably, if we go up via the playoffs for the next two years we won't have bus tours then either, because we haven't won anything. Don't tell him we won something more important than a trophy.
WE WON PROMOTION.
