Good shout, I think he'll be snapped up by a higher club soon enough, he's got that bit of flair that would excite the fans. I'm not sure if he'd do the business at a higher level or not, but if anyone could get the best out of him, it's DC. I'd also like to see a new GK, new CB and new left mid. Another player I've seen a few times on the TV and been impressed by is Blair Spittal at Dundee United. I know they've been awful this year in a terrible league, but he seems to be better than that. Another good player in the SPL is Sam Nicholson at Hearts, who would be an excellent addition on the left wing, but probably out of our reach. Think DC has said at some point that the club had Akinola watched a number of times after he impressed against us at the Mem for Braintree, and he was fairly poor - so we didn't go for him. Ah I didn't realise that, maybe he's too inconsistent to be considered by DC, which would be fine by me!

Just because he plays for Rochdale doesn't mean he lives there? Goalie wise with Mildenhall & Puddy being offered new deals can we afford another on the books? Will all players who are offered contracts actually stay ? Remember Balanta and Monkhouse last season (there might have been others ). I can't imagine Puddy would turn down an offer of a contact with a Div 1 club? I guess Mildenhall may decide Div 1 is a step too far but he soon took the contact extension last season!

I really don't expect all the squad to be here next year - it won't be in DC's/club's best interest - fewer new players to boost the squad !

Doug Walker. Promising young midfielder. I understand he's had talks with Darrell and has met with Wael. Which club ?

Balanta and LDV both looking for clubs now. I know DC tried to get LDV over the summer but he snubbed us - guess that worked out for him! Wonder if we might see either of them back? Rubbish. LDV may have wanted to come here but DC didn't want him. Always said that he went missing in away games.

I like Stockley, only 22, he was a nuisance against us I thought, and scored against us for Pompey of memory serves me right!

2 reasons why I don't think we will start signing players from the French ligue.
1) We don't need to. Just because we've got a little extra Wael money doesn't mean we should break from our successful recruitment policy. I want Darrell to crack on looking for promising talent from the leagues in and around us.
2) Given the success of Kante and Mahez that league is being watched like a hawk. He will cost more than you would imagine.
My first choice is to keep all the squad together however, some might feel more minutes are found elsewhere. If we keep everyone not much is needed. I would add- LB cover (might come from our own youth), a centre back (largely for cover) and a winger.

This squad has been amazing for past 2 years but I expect signings if we wana compete in this league. We have had most the same players since non league and I think this maybe a step to far for some. We need to keep raising the bar and if we want to make the championship we need to get some more quality in!

But the Conference players are some of our better perfromers, Taylor, Sinclair, Leadbitter?

DC said they'd all been offered at least 12 month contracts, I assume at least on last seasons terms, if I was Puddy or Mildenhall I'd sign that as soon as it was offered!

Despite being wanted by Arsenal for a sum of 25m? Quoted as saying he's not going to Leivester, but he knows where he's going. Maybe Wael already has him signed up?

Despite being wanted by Arsenal for a sum of 25m? £25M having only played 25 first team games. What price should we put on Taylor's head ? (assuming he very kindly signs a new contract before leaving)

Personally I think the move up to League 1 is trickier than a lot think and some of our present squad will struggle whereas some will find it no problem at all. I get the feeling that Wael has good contacts and will be in close contact with Darrell. Whilst not interfering it will be his money and would not be a bit surprised to see a few Jordan players appearing at Training. I am sure if Darrell thinks that Wael's suggestions/ contacts bring players who are better than what we have and they fit the Darrell philosophy then that may be one road. I have the feeling that we will have a very good working relationship between the Manager/Owner with a lot of respect both ways. My own opinion on our squad, for what it is worth, would be
Mildenhall Keep at reduced rate. Puddy Release Leadbitter Keep James Clarke Keep Lockyer Keep McCrystal Keep at reduced rate Parkes Keep at reduced rate Brown Keep Bodin Keep Lines Keep Mansell Keep Sinclair Keep Gosling Probably release Ollie Clarke Release Montano Keep Liam Lawrence Release Harrison Keep Mc Burnie Try to get on season long loan Easter Keep Gaffney Keep Taylor Keep Lucas Keep Other youngsters I have really not seen enough of to comment. I would be looking to bring in 6-7 players based on 4 released to have a slightly bigger squad due to the Loan system. I would be looking to strengthen in all departments but priority would be a centre half who can deal with aerial threat, full back to provide competition for Lee brown,2 Central midfielders,2 wide players, 1 striker. Without knowing availability I don't really have many suggestions. Players who have impressed me this season have been Ollie Watkins Exeter, John Akinde (I will get my helmet on),Wycombe centre half, Accringtons centre halves, Accringtons wide players, Stevenage centre half, Taylor Wimbledon, Wimbledon centre half,Dagenham keeper, Plymouth winger, Ricky Holmes (no chance). I have long admired Josh Lillis the Rochdale keeper. I haven't put names as I am terrible at names. I would say over this season there have been a lack of quality midfield players seen at this level and would have to be looking at divisions above to get in the sort of quality we need in that area although i would say Portsmouth and Plymouth had the best midfields against us.
