Would you take a point tomorrow night? After drawing the first game we don't want to get to far behind, however, they won 5 0 on Saturday and have a good manager. We are 2/1 to win so the bookies don't fancy us. Last season our away form was bad would be nice to get an away win early.

I'd be happy with a draw, 0-0 or 1-1

Jesus wept.
I never thought I'd see the day when I'd think taking a point in the conference was acceptable.
Sorry, we should be wanting 3 every game.
Ill accept a point was acceptable after the game, not before.

No. We need to win games, especially after drawing at home. Or we could just lower expectations so much that we're happy not to go down this year?

I'm sorry this kinda thinking doesn't work for me.
As a realistic goal a point might be ok. I think there's more ambition in the dressing room. We need to be more confident and aim higher. Our results at Barnet has not always been that good but times are a changing.
They will be over confident and we will be ready for them. A stretching goal will be a win by one goal and ground breaking goal right now would be to win by a gap of two maybe three goals. Does anyone really expect us to win by 3 goals. Probably not. Did Barnet expect to score 5 at the weekend? Probably not.
DC said there were goals in our team. Why not tomorrow night? I'm not expecting a 3-0 win but a win is not out of the question. If we win, we will have people working overtime making pasties to ensure we don't run out on Saturday.
I take a win by one goal. If it's anymore then everybody will be talking about us. We might show our intent, give everybody some much needed confidence and calm a few who spend too much time looking back. I'm looking forward and very hopeful.

Yep would take a point now. Tricky away game however you dress it up. It's realistic to expect a point. I agree and it's always been a tricky away game for us. Can we hope for better? If we win I think we will all be singing.

I would take a point at the end of the game, not before. We need to set out to win.

We will win. No doubt about it. 0-2 Not many expecting a 2-0 win. If we do that then the ones that go will be witnessing one of the best starts we have had in years. We might well surprise - if we do it will be ground breaking as so few expect it. If we do win and play well it will give us all the belief that we can do something spectacular. Bristol Rovers will become the team to watch.

We looked more organized than Grimsby imo. So by that 1 game and your simplicity, we will do better than Grimsby.

Would definitely take a point. If you win your home games and draw your away games, you do well in the league, I'd take a point away against any of the teams I consider a good team away in this league. This doesn't mean that I don't want us to win or think we shouldn't go for the win, just that I think it would be a decent point should we come away with it.
The "we're in the conference only a win is acceptable" argument is one I don't understand. It's not lowering expectations or anything like that, in any league you're in no matter what team you are a point away from home is a decent result against a more favoured team. If I'm a Man City fan and a game against Chelsea is coming up would I take a point away from home? Yes, definitely. Would a prefer a win and want to aim for a win, yes of course, but if you draw away against them and then get your win against them at home then you've done pretty well.
For the record, Luton's record against the top 5 away:
Cambridge - 1-1 draw (also drew with them in FL Trophy) Gateshead - 0-0 draw Grimsby - 2-1 win Halifax - 2-0 loss
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Barnet are a top five team (although I personally said I thought they'd be up there even before Saturday's big win) but a draw isn't a bad result against any top contender away.

As a new team, with ambition, we have to play to win. No question that is the goal

We didn't win our home game. A draw tomorrow = 2 points dropped over 2 games. That return will see us in trouble come the end of the season. Some people will be saying it's no big deal if we lose to Barnet in a minute!

Would be disappointed to see us go out and aim for a draw. It'd be acceptable if we went out to win but got a draw.

Yes, unfortunately at this point in the season. Away to an unpredictable ( I say that as Mad Dog is in charge ) team, who won 5-0 away on Saturday. Who knows are Barnet a good team scoring five away. On the other hand Chester may have been awful. Already one down when their player was sent off. Later in the season perhaps after seeing how things were panning out, I like to think we could go up there for a win.
I would say harleyjakerich is spot on with what he says.
