It's quite obvious what they need to do about queues. Maybe a drink only shack. Pre make a load just before half time. Maybe serve dime bars with your drink as a snack. sh** loads of leftovers yesterday after the game

The Pasties/Pies are already warmed up before the game or for halftime, so that is not the problem. I heard another reason for the decision from within BRFC, it was to "cut down on the choice"!!!!!!!

Why do Rovers always managed to make everything so hard for themselves, it's not like we're the only club selling food & drink at the ground.

Why do Rovers always managed to make everything so hard for themselves, it's not like we're the only club selling food & drink at the ground. I noticed that Bath City seemed to cope with catering for the 1,000'ish crowd at the friendly, and that included cooking burgers and hot dogs, along with serving the usual fare. Obviously on a much smaller scale, and people are able to walk around the ground to go to either the food hut by the enclosure, or the drinks/chocolate hut on the popular side, but I'm sure that we should be able to deliver service more efficiently than we do.

I went to a ground many moons ago (Stevenage, before they got league status) and they had a snack shack just for simple things like cold drinks, nuts, choc bars etc along side the main outlet doing all sorts of hot food and that was back in the 80's !

one of the main problems is the system they use in the kiosks....
if per order one person sorts the food, 1 person sorts the drinks, and 1 person sorts the cash the each transaction would be complete in about 30 seconds....
problem with 1 person to complete 1 order is they end up stood around wasting time waiting for someone else to finish making tea, or to finish using the till, and they have to ask you multiple times to remember what you've ordered, and sometimes they can't actually remember who they've taken the order from....

It wouldn't solve the problem, some dick head would fail to read the sign and likely get watery with the minimum wage type trying to serve him/her. Bit of a flippant response to an otherwise realistic suggestion/solution. probably down to a certain short fat cockney geezer not being able to get a pie on his visit last Wednesday evening, and threatening to not bring his team next Sunday

This won't happen until we get the new stadium, but let me explain how it works at the Eintracht. You get a credit card thingy. There are staff walking around the concourse, where you get the card, and then put, say 10 quid on the card. When you buy your beer, food etc you just swipe the pre-paid card on the till, and the money is automatically deducted from the card. You can top up the card at any time. It saves a lot of time because people (buyer and seller) don't have to fumble around with money, resulting in a quicker service, with smaller queues.

Also at one of the bars at San Siro, you purchase a ticket for your drink/snack from various counters then claim your goods from the bar. Separating the cash from the goods is the way ahead.

They do that in the South Stand Pasty hut. The problem is the more recent staff don't appear to be able to count. There were 2 girls who worked there in the conference season and they were bloody brilliant. They worked really well together and there were never any problems.

Somebody could walk the terrace like the programme sellers do. Take orders on a pad, take the money and issue a raffle ticket. When you get to the kiosk your ticket corresponds with your ready prepared order.

I'm not fussed, I don't queue, I just push in near the front and pay in pennies.
