Carayol just wasn't as good in my opinion as some people on here seem to think, also don't think he is a DC type player, doesn't work hard enough off the ball Name a better winger and crosser of the ball for Rovers in the last 20 years. Alan Gow!

Was Meaker the guy from Reading the boys in the West enclosure nicknamed "Mallet Foot" after the Croquet bat thingy?

Name a better winger and crosser of the ball for Rovers in the last 20 years. Mark Walters? But i agree Carayol was a quality player. The question is whether he still is and i don't know the answer to that. From his brief appearances on Sky etc I think he's a far better player, assuming he's still got it takes I guess depends on if he's fully overcome his ACL injury but didn't Boro offer him a new long contract last summer, so they must have thought he was still good enough for the Championship, if not the Premiership this summer. If Boro have bought out his contract I assume he could afford to take a big pay cut at his new club, just to get his career back on track for a season or two?

Thing is he's a winger and our wingers have hardly featured so far this season so I doubt DC is looking for one. The main thing I think we need is a midfield general who is preferabley tall quick and strong. Probably not easy to find though.

I think we could probably do with one more winger. We had no option but to play 3-5-2 yesterday because our only fit winger was Monty. Yes others could have played there but square pegs in round holes rarely work and Broom isn't ready to be starting games in L1.
If Muzzy is available I would definitely like to see us try to sign him.
