Bit of a walk in the park really. Cheltenham didn't cause us any trouble at all. Player who stood out for me today was Ryan Broom.

Didn't the sh*t only beat them 2-1. That of course makes us better.

I really think he has something about him to make it. Looked better going forward than defensively when I have seen him. What was good about him today?

Looked positive when he had the ball was able to go past players, make the simple passes, off the ball he was always looking to get forward be a part of the play and was also good getting back to defend chasing players down and putting tackles in. Best I've seen of him in preparation season. I don't think he's first choice to be in starting 11 but showed quality that given a chance he could step up.

Hopefully he can get a few sub appearances for now and take it from there.

On holiday in sunny Catalunya so unable to go today. I seem to recall DC saying this game would give the side a game comparable to a league 1 Match. Not so sure about that as someone has described today as a walk in the park. Presumably Chelts were trying, and so although you can't judge a side by a pre-season friendly, the last friendly the team should be getting up to speed so bodes well for us and a worry for Chelts?
Time for another cold 'un then off to the local restaurant for dinner.
This is the life!

Hot day here in Corfu. Same as above, cold beer, shower, taverna. Coupled with an easy gas win what's not to like?

Thought Cheltenham looked pretty poor, especially their shooting. Broome definitely looking a prospect.

Todays game made me realise how strong a squad we have we must of made 10-11 subs and we were taking off quality and replacing them with quality like taylor for james, easter for Harrison, bodin for brown and so on.
Ryan Broom had a good game and showed signs of a good player in the making, not afraid to take his man on and was successful at doing so, he was lacking in strength was out muscled a few times but that's down to his youth/age but I'm sure hes one for the near future. was impressed.
With the squad we have plus adding another quality CM and a GK I think we have a very good league one squad, exciting times ahead I'm sure.

Enjoyed today , thought Cheltenham were pretty physical as you expect with a Gary Johnson side. Ryan Broom was outstanding & I definitely think there is a very good player in Luke James once he has a few games under his belt.

Played RWB and wasn't great defensively but looked good going forward. There's a couple of youngsters who I think will struggle going forward but I think he's one that could offer us something.

Not going overboard on Broom as the Cheltenham full back was pretty awful but I would say that he is ready to appear in the squad sometimes. Kilgour and Greenslade nowhere near.Ollie Clarke and Sinclair are also bench warmers at League 1 level so I very much hope that we see a central midfielder or even 2 in before next Saturday. Hope all the players who didn't get a game today are fit and not injured. it was an enjoyable game that would have ended five or six but for all the substitutions. We totally outclassed Cheltenham but still think we play very defensively.

Anybody notice Lee Johnson was up in the box today, was he there with his dad or was there another reason?
