Didn't the sh*t only beat them 2-1. That of course makes us better. Therefore we would beat them 2-0 or 3-1 etc. You really must stop writing stuff like that, another four pages on one turd as the thick sods read every word, clearly sarcasm hasnt reached darkest bs3, heads!!

Bit of a walk in the park really. Cheltenham didn't cause us any trouble at all. Player who stood out for me today was Ryan Broom.Delighted to hear that. I really think he has something about him to make it. Looked better going forward than defensively when I have seen him. What was good about him today? He got across to cover the counter well when the big centre halfs had gone up for corners and they tried to break. One thing on that point that stood out to me was a big hoof away from a corner that their forward was running under and watching all the way, a 50 yarder , Broom ran across to the middle from the right and brought it down on his chest on to his right and played it second touch straight to a Rovers shirt , had a real touch of class i think he's been learning from Locks. Every time we had the ball and it went right he was involved looking to run st the full back and I can only think of one occasion where he didn't beat him. His crossing was good his first touch was good. Didn't do a lot wrong today and he looked good against Villa too. Perfect competition for Leads. The right back / wing back area is covered I reckon.

I have to say that I like your assessment of the Johnson's but it doesn't hide the fact that he was there and if it was for MT then so be it, whatever will be, players come and go but our beloved club still goes on. UTG Think you're over thinking. It was probably a day off for them after playing yesterday, he lives in Portisheas and won't get to see his dad's Cheltenham side much once the season starts as they will be playing at the same time every week.

Anybody notice Lee Johnson was up in the box today, was he there with his dad or was there another reason? Wasn't the Cheltenham goalie, O'Leary on the 82ers books?

Not going overboard on Broom as the Cheltenham full back was pretty awful but I would say that he is ready to appear in the squad sometimes. Kilgour and Greenslade nowhere near.Ollie Clarke and Sinclair are also bench warmers at League 1 level so I very much hope that we see a central midfielder or even 2 in before next Saturday. Hope all the players who didn't get a game today are fit and not injured. it was an enjoyable game that would have ended five or six but for all the substitutions. We totally outclassed Cheltenham but still think we play very defensively. i think dc is going to see how things go before deciding where to strengthen the team which i agree with. im more a sinclair man than ollie clarke but want them both a chance to succeed at league one level and want to give them my total backing as they will both be busting a gut to prove doubters like you wrong. i thought we played some smashing football last season so i hope we carry on being defensive if it looks as good on the eye as most of last seasons football was

One of them wrote this ffs, how stupid can one get? " they are such a cretinous club even swindon are less deluded than these lot. They are supposed to be our fierce rival but they dont rival us in anything apart from being delusional and thick."

Lee Johnson sat next to his old yeovile colleague Darren Way throughout the game, also from the 82 crowd was Brian Tinion. Another face was Andy Hessenthaler, assume he was there scouting for Orient who play Cheltenham soon. A notable absentee was Michael Appleton who was on the list to attend. All in all a good workout, I thought the lads coped well against a physical team and created some good chances. Both of our much maligned keepers made decent saves from headers at close range. Bring on the new season UTG

Anybody see "Alf's Boys" on BBC2 last night? Apparently Ramsey didn't pick all the best players. He picked the top very best then others who could best support them within a system. Who could be relied on. A team! Novel idea......

I just can't see him bringing in a CM when he's already got so many to choose from unless they really struggle in the first few games. As far as a goalie given it's a vital position then surely DC would have signed one already to play in the pre-season games.
