Perhaps they need to know the attendance 24 hours in advance for policing.

Hopefully I'm wrong but I assume on Police orders the game will have to remain all ticket, regardless to how poor ticket sales are at midnight tonight.

It will have been made all ticket on police advice unfortunately. Obviously to stop Cardiff potentially selling out and then a load turning up ticket less and going in our end. No chance it will be changed.

No chance it will be changed. This kind of thing can be avoided if a plastic supporters club card is issued (for each season) . It means that games like these can be open to pay on the day for those who show their sc card (if the issue is potential trouble and not too many turning up ).

I can understand the police insisting it needs to be all ticket , but I would have thought they may of allowed Rovers season ticket holders to pay on the night by showing their season -ticket book.

Cardiff have sold around 850 tickets, as of this evening.

Surely we haven't got any "plastic" supporters

Common sense! You'd never get a job working for the club with logic like that. I reckon there are plenty of people who will turn up on Thursday without a clue it's all ticket. I expect that if Cardiff haven't sold out by tomorrow night there will be cash turnstyles.

Yeah agreed, credit card like season tickets and supporters club cards which with a few clicks online you can purchase a 'ticket' for the game. Then there is no going to any ticket office, shop, hope the post arrives on time etc to get tickets. Having said that, to install such a system on an old hopefully soon to be abandoned un modern stadium would be very costly.

Preferably a card compatible with Apple wallet and its equivalents so phones can be scanned.

The taffys took a big crew to Birmingham last Saturday and it kicked off big style outside the ground we don't want to be left in a bad situation yet again so it must stay all ticket I believe , but being on to as well do we want to be seen as a club with little support

This is the first round of the cup.

Anybody who knows anything about English football knows our support is respectable. This is the first round of the cup. You saved me a post there 79 ! Historically, early rounds of this cup are not well supported so I wouldn't expect much of a crowd. Smaller queues for pasties, pies (if available) and hot drinks. Could make getting a beer afterwards a tad easier as well, oh when the Gas etc etc.

I dont think its possible to make it pay on the day now with cardiffs reputation. I do think they could have done some offers to sell more tickets when you think that historically attendances for the first round are generally poor unless you come up with a plumb tie. 1/3 off a new shirt when you buy a ticket? Kids go free?
