Boy did he cause Chelsea problems last night. He looks a different player already this season. He's always had potential but I haven't seen him play as well as he has so far this season, yes he went on that scoring run in the conference but he is actually looking a good "match player", so much better in the air and at keeping the ball. 3 of the 4 games so far this season I've seen him and he's impressed me. The fact that DC has started him so much already this season, tells me that he is showing DC what he wants to see on the training ground.
Keep it up Ellis!

Great to see, press reports called him out as a handful. He is a confidence player and starting him gives him that little lift I sense. Would love him to flourish this year with a bit of DC nurturing

That's why you stick with young, talented players, even if they're a bit rough around the edges. Hopefully he'll keep it up. The same faith in Ollie Clarke will get rewarded as well.

Was thinking exactly the same last night Well done Ellis

Chelsea`s back four of international players, looked pretty relieved when Ellis went off. A night to remember for the lad.

Ellis fulfilled everything he needed to in my eyes, when he scored one of the most important goals in Gas history, at Wembley! I love the man! 'Ledge' UTG

I thought he was much better when he had other strikers around him last night. I also thought it was a mistake to have him as our only forward in the first half. His movements not good enough to be a lone striker. In the second half he was excellent though and was just in his best form of the night when he was brought off ! It knocked the stuffing out of us a bit and Gaf never got a look in really. Well done Ellis UTG

As you climb the leagues you'll find that the faster pace gives more space to fleet-footed players like Harrison. The National League must be like playing in a bowl of porridge in comparison with last night. Taylor's come on too, and doesn't miss sitters like he did two seasons ago because he doesn't get that many chances at the higher level and can focus fully on the couple that do pop up during a game.

We wouldn't if Harrison & co played at last night's level every game but we know they don't, what's the betting Harrison will be wondering around looking lost in a match or two, less last night is the motivation to kick on. What I can't understand is why somebody like Chelsea doesn't take a small gamble on somebody like Ellis, rather than spend tens of millions on foreign players. On the stream Sinclair looked fantastic last night, once again a player looking far better when given a bit of space.

I said to my mate if that ferocious volley that clipped the crossbar had gone in, we might have had clubs banging on the door for him today.
He is showing willingness and dare I say it a little more composure when confronted by opposition defenders.

Ellis is now in my starting 11 every week - he's much stronger now and that is showing in his aerial ability. He has pace, strength and can finish - all the attributes of a good striker. As someone earlier said I'm glad we persevered with him because he can make a huge contribution this season.

As someones said, he got taken off when he was looking at his best.
Might sound ridiculous but I felt the last 5-10 mins it was almost as if we didnt push for an equaliser, as if we didnt want extra time seeing as they'd just brought on Terry, Oscar and Hazard and we could've been in for a pasting as we looked knackered. Looked content with a 3-2 result. Or maybe it was just that - we were knackered.

I've been his greatest critic, uninterested, lazy, non commital, couldn't hit a barn door, but, he's still very young and sometimes I forget that, and if DC can continue to get him going, and he's got it in him, then good on the lad.

Looked content with a 3-2 result. Or maybe it was just that - we were knackered. Trouble is we had to get the ball back. Then when we did we were shattered, trying to play excellent football and killer passes because they weren't going to slip up. Cahill and Terry were a centre-half pairing for England not long ago, and Azpilicueta and Ivanovic are class full backs. It says a lot that those four were on the pitch at the end. The best chance we had to equalise was after we scored the penalty, they looked shaky for a good 10-15 mins. They probably stepped out of first gear at that point, but once those subs were made they could afford to cruise a bit.

I'd pick Ellis over Taylor anyday at the moment.

I'd pick Ellis over Taylor anyday at the moment. Totally different kind of players, don't you think ? . Thankfully, DC likes playing 2 forwards, so Taylor can partner either Harrison or Gaffney.
