I haven't experienced a soaking like that since Newport away a few years back. The rain really spoilt what was otherwise a really sh*te game !!! Newport in comparison was just a light shower

Over the years i have often laughed when away fans have been getting soaked, as you do. But never again, really felt for the young kids, not the best day in swindle, lets hope the return visit is better, wish id bloody worked instead.

Are you for real? This was rain the likes of which most people have never seen before, that caused the match to be abandoned, local streets flooded, and Rovers fans stripping off in launderettes to dry their clothes, and you're meaning about a f**king umbrella. Yes I am for real. You forget I was standing in exactly the same conditions as everone else and I would have loved an umbrella. Difference is I would have stood at the back where it didn't affect anyone else and not been so pig ignorant.

Newport in comparison was just a light shower During the first half I stupidly said to the people I was with "this is nothing compared to Newport a few years back". I'll keep my mouth shut from now on.

Whilst on the subject of dead hard assholes.... Today at Swindon mate of mine queued up at half time for some food, which stretched back a fair distance. As he gained closer to the front with about half a dozen or so people in front. A lad and his mates tried to jump the queue! So he turned to this lad and said.... Look if you want to push in can you do it behind me please.. To which his mate then said.. Are you not going to let him in!!! And my mate said no?? So he replied... What about if I punch you in the face!!!!.... Now my mate is in his early 50's and not an a aggressive bloke.. Is this really true gasheads??? I'd expect this from the idiots south of the river!!!!

No. Scum of the highest order. Been following rovers all my life, and made a lot of friends along the way. Always prided the fact that we are like a big family club of dedicated and friendly supporters.... Everyone with a good heart...when our fans helped that little city lad in a wheel chair to raise the money for his operation. I know we have a few crack pots thrown in the mixer just like every club. But to threaten a guy stood in a queue who has waited patiently? I just don't know?

Im in total agreement with you. A few people have replied who dont think its an issue. Nobody should take an umbrella into a crowd at an event when its uncovered and could rain. If you dont like rain get a covered seat or dont go, its just selfish and really annoying and take about 1 brain cell to calculate that. Id ban umbrellas from football grounds, simples. I thought they were banned. If you can't take a plastic bottle of water in how can it be legal to take an umbrella in ??!! A belt can be a very effective weapon yet most fans have one at every game!

Too true , especially with the sh** we had to endure under wards tenure, I'm surprised we didn't have anyone using them to hang themselves at half time!

Why didn't you do something about it? She did spoke to the person concerned, and also complained to stewards and the police. Apart from offering to meet him in the car park afterwards I don't really see what else she could have done. I noticed that other people, with smaller umbrellas, had more consideration and stood at the back of the stand.

We never go to Swindon now as it seems to bring out the morons for some reason. Last time we went several years ago, two so called Gas were fighting each other in the food queue. Why Swindon? I don't know maybe local derby and near. I never see this at home games, like some one else said this isn't the Gas family I know and I am proud of. More like the sheeds perhaps they are?

Quite how you can get in the ground with a brolly I don't know! This op is getting a few sympathetic replies and a few likes here and there, so rather than that.. how about a few of you grow a pair and rise up to these people? If the decent folk are prepared to stand and watch whilst a fellow gets verbally abused then I lose a bit of sympathy for all concerned. Where do you draw the line? If as many people refused to accept the situation as have liked or commented on this op, the situation would have been resolved.

No fans should be stood/sat in "open ends" at this level of football!

The morons concerned were becoming physically as well as verbally threatening. Without the support of stewards or police what more could a decent law abiding person do? You had to be there to understand.

There seem to be an increasing numbers of idiots at Rovers matches, or im just getting older and more sensitive to things. At the bolton home game, east stand, some guy spent almost the entire 2nd Half yelling abuse at the bolton manager it was pretty aggressive and not good, i thought about complaining to a steward but i didnt. If i complain to a steward about constant use of expletives at full volume will they do anything or tell me its not an issue?

Sadly, very sadly, I'm not surprised. Although maybe because of who we were playing, it brought the worst out some people. They approached the match determined to exude overaggressive attitudes & didn't know where to stop.
