I went today with a few city mates of mine to the fans derby. It was a quality afternoon, shared by the people of Bristol for a wonderful cause - I'm proud to be a Bristolian tonight, both blue and red.
Anyway,I was just watching a few videos on you tube of the past two seasons promotions, starting with our relegation in 2014.
I was speaking to a few city fans about bristol football and all the City fans agreed with what a class guy wael is and where we as a club are heading.
A new ground is around the corner (even if it's another 5 years before we are in it) we have an incredible owner, with a professional board behind him that will take us to the promise land given time in the right way with us building from the ground up.
We have our greastest ever manager in charge of us with a proven track record who is young, that also loves our club along with its history and it' supporters.
And on the other side of town like him or not, Landsdown has put his money where his mouth is and has recreated BCFC into a premiership outfit that will surely get into the top flight sooner rather than later...
Not sure about you but the way we are planting those seeds for the future, and with city being run as they are today it wets the Appetite for what could become a golden generation for Bristol football at the top level in a way that's never been seen before for both the Blue and Red sides of our town.UTG

Pretty much created this thread to say what a positive way we are heading in right now as a club, and what an amazing future we have. Its the begining of our golden era for our club.
It's just ironic that City are on the same journey too - even if they are stage ahead of us right now in regards to stadium and league level right now.
But somehow a positive is turned into a negative thread.😕

I get the Rovers bit but who gives a toss about them ? Not me. I'm making a point about us and how great we could be over the near, medium and long term future - thus creating unrivalled history. But I also stated that with the other mob sorting themself out as well that we could be on the verge of a golden era of Bristol football yet people spin what I say in a negative way. 😴😤😡

Yep, exciting times ahead as Bristol football is finally fulfilling its potential. Don't get the hatred a lot of fans spit about the City. Take the p*ss and have a laugh at their expense by all means, but some of it is just beyond belief. Pathetic in fact.

No, I'll tell you what is pathetic.
Playing professional footballers in a fans' derby charity match just so they can stuff us out of sight.
That is really *ing pathetic.
Sad bunch of w***ers.

From history whenever we do well so do the other lot and when they do well so do we. I don't care about them all I want us Rovers to do well. I ignore them. UTG!

They are heading to the prem sooner rather than later? How is that conclusion reached? Their ground is refurbished to be an average stadium. We in Bristol are impressed by a shiny structure as hardly anything gets done here. Certainly haven't seen any sport development of that scale, so I think people are getting a bit too excited about it. It isn't purpose built, it is at its limit already in terms of size, hamstrung by local road networks and parking. SL wanted AV for obvious reasons and they have lapped up second choice which is also the cheaper choice no doubt.
This isn't a dig at them from a lofty position because frankly, other than a new bloke and some suits, we have little to crow about in comparison. Truth is that we are a decade behind them even if they stand still.
In terms of league position, we are finding our feet and DCs talk of championship is highly ambitious. Their manager-the one who used to get booed on as sub- chatting about Europa league in 5 seasons is suicidal speak. Footy supporters of both persuasions are polarized with their opinions and the friendly chat between op and chums at the Mem is not the norm for me and the tards who I get to chat with.

I bet they get to the premier league way before we do The best we can achieve in the next 5 years is high end League 1/bottom championship with out current ground setup

I just wish those lady gardens would of vanished in 82...I share the posters positivity about us and where we are heading but without sounding too bitter and twisted I hope the franchise in South Bristol crash and burn..

Our short term destiny really revolves around whether the UWE goes ahead or not.
